If you find yourself in Southern Pines, North Carolina it'd probably be a good idea to stop in at the Ironwood Cafe. I've been here more than a few times and each meal has been wonderful. Every restaurant has issues in some aspect of their preparation, kitchen, service staff, building and seating situation etc but the atmosphere and environment here overcome whatever minor issues may exist at the moment. The menu is wide-ranging, from a delicious hamburger made from prime cuts of meat, to a Asian stir-fry, to their bone marrow appetizer with bread. The wine list is excellent with prices to match. I believe my only negative comment might be that it gets very loud in here and is difficult to hear people at your table.
