We fell in love with a kitty. They refuse to let us adopt because our other cat hasn't been getting yearly checkups and shots. She is an indoor cat that has no health issues. Do they want these cats to have homes or not? We always use vet care and our dog is seen for her issues. We are loving pet parents.

The reviews here are correct, I went to the cat cafe and fell in love with one of the cats there. I went through the adoption process with the humane society and was in contact with them viva email and phone. When I sent in my dogs shot records who was a rescue from a friend I didn’t have background information on her or vet records. My pet was fixed and got all her shot before covid hit. In 2020 it was very hard to get her to a vet or even schedule an appointment. In 2021 in the spring once everything was back up and running I did take her for a visit with a local pet hospital which I had records of. Not knowing my rabies was only a year I didn’t have her re vaccinated for the current year on the marker. Because of covid and all the regulations when I moved to the city she missed a year of shots and check ups. My dog is well taken care of and lives a very lavish life. This humane society what I’ve heard from numerous people, gives the run around and almost makes it impossible to adopt! I would say try another local shelter or cat sanctuary in this area. There customer service was bad they called after hours. So it was hard to even contact anybody!!

They never answer thr phone. I don't want to leave the cat in some random place I have a heart but I can't take care of her I don't have a place for her I need to surrender her answer the phone

I realize this is a late response, but as a heads-up: I found a stray that was in terrible shape. I took him to a vet to check for a chip (none), brought him back to health and decided to keep him. Three years later I was talking to an animal control officer (son of a co-worker) who informed me that it is against the law to simply keep/adopt a found stray. I'm assuming because dogs are considered property and no different than finding a wallet. He said I should have first taken him to an animal shelter, rescue or as a last resort, animal control. If no one came forward within the designated time frame (I believe 3 days), then I would have the opportunity to reclaim him. I mentioned it to my vet, who was completely unaware of this.
I personally don't know whether they do or not. But also don't forget to check with the pound over Animal Control. Not to take anything away from the Humane Society, but the pound also has lovely animals. They're animals also get checked out by vets oh, they also have their shots and you also get a certificate to help get them spayed or neutered. Good luck with finding your new pet... And thank you for choosing to adopt and not shop!
You can take it to any vet and see if it's chipped, if not you can surrender it to the shelter and hope it gets adopted. Another option is to find a specialized rescue center.
I don't believe they do. there is an online coupon for Smyrna Animal Hospital. And it's only supposed to cost $1 for the first visit to the vet. I hope you see this and try to get him to the vet oh, maybe they can help your pet.
You can try to find a cat rescue near you, that's the safest way to protect the kittens.
While I'm not sure about the Humane Society's protocol, I do know that non-profit rescue orgs inside of most, if not all, PetSmarts will accept them. Simply go in on an actiive "adoption day"operates. Those are on Saturdays or Sundays and generally begin one hour after PetSmart opens. Just tell one of the volunteers from the shelter/rescue organization who is there on a Sat/Sun that you have linens to donate. I volunteer with two pet rescue orgs and we accept laundered lines to use in our cages. Bath towels, sheets, pillow cases, cloth tablecloths, etc. are perfect for lining cages and carriers, covering pet beds and many other uses.
I so sorry for your loss I think you should wait a couple months or maybe a year to decide if you want another dog. If you decide you want another I would consider buying one from your local animals shelter or a humane society
Go somewhere else. They don't answer the phone or will take weeks to get back to you. If you do decide to adopt, they will probably decline you because they don't like the font used in your handwriting.
Yes they do! Just call them and the automated service will direct you on how you can do either volunteer hours or court ordered community service as well.
Animals
I would think high school age; over 13...but i don't know for sure.
Yes
The Humane society really needs donations, however if you need food for your own dogs, please contact a Rescue center or an animal rescue that can help you.
Pit Bulls do not fair well at the Humane society. I would suggest you find a Rescue center specializing in Pit Bull rescues. You should Google rescues and contact them.
Company Overview The Humane Society of Cobb County (HSCC) is an independent, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) humane animal welfare charity founded in 1957. We are a no-kill shelter serving Cobb County and the surrounding area.
I would call them and make sure they have room for her, if so you should be able to drop her off. If not, they'll be able to help you. Sure hope she finds her family
Please try reaching out on social media or a pet rescue organization.
Call Town and Country Veterinary in Marietta off of Gresham road. They have a connection with a woman who specializes in wildlife care and rehoming. She or another staff member should be able to assist you. It's important that you contact a wildlife organization and not a bird/Parrot/parakeet organization since the latter does not handle wild animals. Best of luck.
12pm-5pm Mon. Thru Sat. Call to make sure they have space available
You would need to bring them in. Mon-Sat 12-5pm
When did you find them and how big are they? Cobb County Animal Control will kill them if they weigh less than two pounds.
What kind of dog?
What does he look like....
What kind of pet?Dog?What kind?
Check with local rescues. I'm confident one will help you.
Why don't you have the dog cremated? My wife and I have always cremated our dogs when they pass. They provide cute little earns. It is a great way to keep them close to you
They gave my cat a dewormer, worm and rabbies vaccine before we took her home, only took a literal minute.
