I went to this job corps in 2004-2005 it was a great experience. I don't know why all of these people are on here saying so many bad things. I never had any issues. Long as you don't get into trouble. Don't get with the wrong people. You will be fine. It is not like being in prison. I actually have so much fun. There is so much to do. I got to trade. I got my driver's license and met some really awesome people. I wish people would be more positive about the experience that they have here. Obviously if some of you are not having a good time and if you're easily persuaded and easily bullied then yes it will probably be hard for you. But I'm planning on sending my son here as I went here and it was not. Nothing like everybody is saying they take you on trips. You're getting an allowance. You can leave for the weekends. It's just a great time and a great learning experience. Nothing like what everybody is saying here. Please understand somebody else's bad experience does not mean that would be your experience. It is nothing like that.

Hi, I went to ECC back in '82, I stayed 18 months, I had quit hs one month before graduation, so I attained my GED pretty quickly, also got my 1st driver's license, spent 6 months in 3 different trades (welding, culinary arts n brick masonry) the last 2 were at the satellite center, I enjoyed that location alot better, less people n less bs...in my 1st cpl months, I bit into a fried chicken leg n a FEATHER popped out!!! So gross!!! I haven't eaten chicken legs since lol anyways, as for the actual learning, you get what you put into it, can be good n bad for everyone going thru the program...
money money
I attended here 02/05 until 06/06. I was in the UAW program. My instructor was awesome. Craig Oakley was like a Dad and he came to work everyday and did his best with the young men

My expirience here has been awesome. However it is very strict. Here are a few things you need to know. In the dorm you have to keep your room in order and clean it every day before you leave. Your room is scored from 0-10 and you even have to make your bed a certain way. Depending on which campus you live in depends on your "perks" for lack of a better word. Every campus is unique in its own way but as of now there are officially only two female dorms on campus. Now I know you guys are thinking that it is probably slightly sexist, but its not. Most people who apply here are males and the boys REALLY DO outnumber the girls 50 : 1. Other than that the dorms and dorm staff are good. The two girl dorms are located in the 900's campus and 400's campus. The 300's and 500's are co-ed(300's only for a limited time.). The 300's campus are for new students. They go through a course called "CPP : Career Prep Period. Its a time where you pick and shadow your trades, fill out important information, officially become a student, and learn about the center. The people you arrive with are considered your "OTs" which stands for "Orientation" and or "On Tuesday". We get new students every tuesday. The 400's is where you are meant to start after you finish CPP. The dorms there are big but pretty small compared to the others but only because they host more people. In the 400's dorm you will have one small lobby where students hang out and "Roll Call" is taken place. Roll Call is where you meet at certain times to make sure everyone is accounted for and snacks are passed out after your "Dorm Duties" are done. Dorm Duties are chores and they vary from week to week. Minors have to sign a log every few hours so the center can keep track of them. If you do not sign the log, you will get a Case Note "Demerit" and have your parents contacted. There are four hallways called "wings" and they are named after letters. Each Wing has five large rooms that can hold 4 people. You each get a locker, however the lockers are like friggin huge so you don't have to worry. Each wing has a "Wing Leader" who is kind of like president of that hallway. They help new students settle in, assist RA's, and basically become a mentor to their "Girls and/or boys". The fifth room on every wing is reserved for the Wing leader. The wings share a laundry room and follow a schedule. You will share a microwave with the whole wing in the T.V rooms and only the wing leader gets a refrigerator. This varies from different dorms and mostly has something to do with funding. You are not allowed to use the staff refrigerator but can use your wing leader's if they allow it. Before you get salty, this is a safety measure. The staff stores snacks, juices, and their personal lunches in that refrigerator and I have been a witness to multiple thefts. So now no one is allowed to use a staff refrigerator. You are allowed to buy your own fridge if you get permission but will have to ship it yourself when you leave. Again refrigerators vary from dorm to dorm depending on the campus and how much funding the Student Government has to pay for appliances. The 900's Campus is quite larger the the 400's since they are remodeled however dorm 901 is set up like a 400's dorm. The 9's are a bit different from the 4's. There is a huge lobby leading to wings that also have their own lobby. In Dorms 902 + 903 you only have 1 roommate except for your wing leader. Wing leader's almost always have their own rooms, it is unusual if they do have a roommate. Also in the nines you have to closets instead of lockers. Roll Call is in your rooms on the weekend. Roll Call Schedule (All Campus') Mon: 9:00 PM Tues: 9:00 PM Wends: 8:15 PM (Agenda Day) Thurs: 9:00 PM Fri: 11:00 PM 300's + 400's Saturday schedule Morning: 11:00 AM Night: 11:00 PM (you are allowed to be out of your room after until 2AM) Sunday Morning: 11:00 AM Night: 9:00 PM 900's + 500's Saturday + Sunday Schedule Night: 11:00 PM (You are allowed to be out of your room until 2 AM) Sunday Night :9:00 PM No sex on campus Tight Security

I called the center and gave them my name and the date that I was there and I paid $25.00 for it and they sent me a copy of it.
No it doesn't cost money. They usually pay for you to get there as far as I know. And as long as your son is 16-24 then he should be accepted. They also accept age 25 in special cases.
That's a good question. I always wondered the same even when I was attending. Not much you can do but make the best out of it, get yours, and get out.
Contact the records department.
Contact Earle C. Clements and they'll direct you to the proper channel, but if all else fails contact the Kentucky Board of Education
Are there photo of people there in 1986
Good morning. Yes it is. I would contact the center, and double check to be sure before mailing in packages.
Please come out here and study. Stay away from the guys on campus, and enjoy your stay. There's good food, good people, you can work, you can study, use the bowling alley, the swimming pool, the union, pool hall, the movies, weekend trips, and most importantly an education.
