MD Anderson , Dr. Samiian and her entire surgical staff were all amazing. I am so blessed that she was my surgeon. Not only was she amazed at whT she dies, she is a straight shooter with an amazing bed side manner.

It has been a wonderful experience with Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center. Everyone from registration to the lab has been a pleasure to talk to. The calls and text messages before appointments to make sure I've done what I needed and as a reminder is great. Dr. Lael Stieglitz take the time to make sure I understand the results, treatment, and next steps. I would and have already recommend Dr. Lael Stieglitz to a few friends and coworkers that are dealing with Urology care. Post My Review on Google COMPLETE

How long is first visit

We spent the entire day and the following day with appointments. However, each cancer type and patient is treated individually. I'm sorry this isn't more specific, but rest assured that whatever tests and specialist is required, you will have access to them. Our day was spent with financial services, patient intake, bloodwork, consult with the main specialist and two supporting doctors. The following day, we met for more bloodwork and some more consults to plan for the treatments to come.

My wife has lung cancer that has moved to other parts. The Dr say this is pretty much it. I'm not really to give up,I'm retired military and have tricare prime. Is this a good place to get a 2nd opinion?

wendell conley | Mar 11, 2022
vickie amos | Mar 11, 2022

I'm not sure where your are going but that seems harsh as I know of today the last say is the lords. I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer which is all in my bones I know its termal but I claimed it at the beginning I had a higher calling and MD Anderson never said anything about death. But with my therapy ther my cancer is not metabolic active. So hang in there and get second opinion there are medications that can extend life

does the center provide transportation for disabled patients?

Joyce Tyler | Oct 7, 2021
Karen Lawyer | Oct 7, 2021

Hi Joyce, I am employee of BMDACC, unfortunately we do not provide transportation for our patients at this time. However, many of our patients in need of transportation are able to arrange this through their insurance company. There are also transportation systems in the county that will take patients to and from their appointments! In any case, we do have social workers whom I am sure will be happy to assist the patient in arranging transportation! I hope this helps!

I found this "Baptist MD Anderson follows the ADA guidelines. For the safety of all our cancer patients, emotional support dogs or pets are not allowed because of our immune comprised population. If the dog is a registered service animal that perform functions that a disabled individual cannot perform on their own, then they will be allowed."

Where to Park??? Is that a parking garage connected??

GE Peabody | Oct 8, 2019
Luanne Froeber | Oct 7, 2020

Yes they do have parking attached. Certain times of day you may have to circle through a couple times to find lower level parking, but I 've always found a spot on the first level if you allow an extra 5 minutes or so to your travel time. Unlike some hospitals, Baptist and their affiliates don't charge for parking.

My mother is having a CTA at MD Anderson and we haven't been there before. We will be coming up San Marco from Mandarin, what side of the street is it on, and where do we park?

Donna Mull | Oct 8, 2018
Bill Sanford | Oct 8, 2018

Building will be on your right. There is parking lot at building although it is crowded due to construction but never a lack of space just a little more of a walk.

What is the time for lab work? 6:30am for MRI and Appt with Dr G. Cavalier at 9:00am.

Tony Mitchell | Oct 8, 2017
Willie Dan | Oct 8, 2017

A day or two before MRI. They prefer 2- 3 days before in case there's a glitch. Lab is open during normal Hospital hours, although when I inquired later, they were still doing business.
