Nice vibe with very friendly staff. The food was just okay to me. Shrimp and grits: the shrimps were perfectly cooked but the taco flavor/seasoning did not work. Arancini: great texture but the sauce has a very strange and unique flavor. Asparagus salad: the asparagus were almost perfect but I couldn't taste the yuzu in the vinaigrette because the rice vinegar was so overpowering. I usually really like pickled radishes (with jajangmyeon, kimbap, etc.) but it did not work in this salad.

First time at Polite Society for brunch and it did not disappoint! Chicken & waffles were the absolute best I've ever tasted & the cherry on tip was the Thai chili maple syrup, OMG! Shrimp & grits were spectacular and I'm not a fan of grits in general, but these were lucky the bowl clean delicious!! I've also gone fur Dinner and the spinach dip was soon good, as well as a wonderful burger, so delicious. My cocktail, the Michigander, was a joy to sip. If you like bourbon, don't sleep on that one!

In the heart of Lafayette Square, lies this gem. Built in one of the historic row homes, the restaurant has 2 floors. The service was excellent and the food/drinks were top tier. With it being our first time, we tried several items on the menu...devil eggs, shrimp and grits, steak, udon noodles, duck, etc... The vibe is very chill, easy to have conversation, and the lighting is low...almost intimate-like. It's perfect for a date night. I'd recommend checking them out. Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars due to a hair being found in the food. They apologized perfusely and made it right for us. I'm sure it was a one off, because everything else was perfect!

We were visiting St. Louis on a business trip and we always like to find local eateries to enjoy when we travel. Polite Society was an excellent experience!!! Reservations are recommended!! It's a cozy and intimate atmosphere, which does make it loud but it is cozy. The food was incredible, every crumb! You could tell the chef put a lot of heart and thought into his flavors and menus. There were also gluten-free options on the menu, which was one of our reasons for choosing them. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend dinner at Polite Society!

Reservations are not required but like any other restaurant they can get busy. If you're headed down on Thursday - Sunday night OR you're arriving with a party of more than 6, I'd recommend making reservations. If you need a little wiggle room in the arrival time just tell the Host/Hostess taking your res that you need a 15 minute buffer. PS is very accommodating and will help you and your dinner party in any way possible.
Lunch is served Monday through Friday 11a - 2p and brunch Saturday and Sunday 10a - 2p. :-)
We have a private room that can be used for any service: brunch, lunch, or dinner. There is a tab on the website "Private Events" that will take you to a brief inquiry form. https://www.politesocietystl.com/private-events
