WELLSTAR Cobb hospital has another building for prenatal visits. My first visit was long which is expected. Rest of the visits so far continue to be long to be seen and rushed. One thing I truly disliked was my ultrasound visit. Technologist Ruby Douglas was advised it be a secret that only my sister was allowed to see the gender. When she was doing the anatomy in my baby’s abdominal section she went too low and never said anything as far as closing my eyes just in case scenarios like that happened. I saw my baby’s legs and in between and only suspected what I thought it was. The ultrasound was finished and the technologist told me to wait in the waiting room so the anatomy can be discussed with me with a nurse/doctor. I was finally called in to a room. After waiting quite sometime, CNM Rocio King went over the anatomy report and revealed the gender. My heart stopped for a second and she said “but you knew that right” I said no. She then said I was suppose to have let her known that. I told her I didn’t know that was suppose to be me that should have told her since the technologist already knew this. I figured it was noted in paper or in the system. So I started crying. She did apologize and pretty much blamed it on the technologist. Or as I felt on me for “not letting her know” to not say anything. Which is ridiculous because I have had 2 pregnancies prior and they Always confirm if I know the gender or not!! WELLSTAR you stoled a very special moment from me. It was everything about the visit that I disliked. Future mamas be aware, your gender reveal party can be canceled or changed because of staff such as.
