To get a Tennessee license plate for a car, by law, you must title and register the car in this state.  New residents and those relocating to the state can obtain a vehicle title from their local county clerk’s office after emissions testing (if it is required by the county). If it's from one person to another person, the original registered owner will have to sign the Title over to the New owner, depending on what State the car is titled in, it may have to be Notarized. Tennessee does not require Notarization on TN titles. There's also a fee of $11, I think. ☆DON'T GO ON THE LAST DAY OR THE FIRST OF THE MONTH☆ I would just take the Title to the State (DMV) and get them to help you. They're all super friendly & helpful.

Is your daughter going to keep your car in Nashville permanently? If so, she'll need to get a new Tennessee license plate. And she'll have to take your car to an emissions testing center. If you have a TN license, you can ge it replaced, if you lost it they will ask you for another identification like passport or Green card.

I think road test are done at the center on Hart lane. They accept walkins but its best to go early in the morning before they open or expect a wait if you go later. They have walk in Wednesdays too for road test. In and out.

Take a letter from your doctor to 2nd Ave to the first floor of the Howard bldg. Pay $10 and you get it, every 2 years it renews

Must wear your own mask. Mask will not be provided upon arrival. You can walk-in. Depending on what your transaction is, head there before 12pm it gets less busy plus the 6ft apart rule will not force you outside.

Actually you would need to call the department of motor vehicles and speak to an agent in regards to previous drivers license. The Davidson county clerks office can not help in this matter

My husband and I just moved from Florida and got TN licenses pretty easily. You need proof of residency and your passport and possibly a couple other forms of identification but we went to the dmv downtown and got a paper license that day and received our permanent license about 2 weeks later in the mail.

If you now are a TN resident you have 30 days to obtain your TN driver license., No, you don't need a test. Your lease contract is enough to prove you are TN resident. You will need: SSN card Resident card (green card) if you are not American Citizen Prove of residence in TN( your lease agreement)
