It really just blows me that you only take ten care as if that’s the only insurance people in the world have. Then I asked if they could refer me to someone and the lady says call the number on the back of my insurance card like why do I have to do all that and I’m on the phone with YOU.

I hope for the love of god that this place gets an overhaul as far as the way that it’s run. I very much appreciate that MHC offers help to people with lower income, but to only offer and not follow through is more hurtful than helpful. I would rather pay a bill late and go to any other med provider. I am disappointed, but unsurprised to read other reviews of people with almost the exact circumstances as myself, even from many years prior. You’d think they would work hard to eradicate recurring issues over the years, but that does not seem to be the case. They will cancel your appointments, and also tell you that you cannot get your meds refilled until you have an appointment…that they will cancel… Medical withdrawal makes people (including myself) extremely suicidal, which means that MHC is literally harming more than they are helping. One time I had an appointment that they swore was over the phone (I called and double checked four times that week) only for the nurse to FINALLY call me back after many voicemails and say “Idk why they keep telling people that. Anyway, you’ll need another appointment.” Which I made, and they cancelled day of. I have to take off for these appointments. So I’m losing more money than I am saving with this organization. They will forward you to a nurse for everything, which only sends you to voicemail. I have had to leave an average of four voicemails to get a call back, most I am completely panicking in because I am terrified that I will off myself if I go through withdrawal again. They will not respond to your pharmacy requests, either. I have only been dealing with MHC for a few months and it has been absolute hell on my mental state. I am actively looking for a new psychiatrist that will inevitably be 100% more expensive. Fingers crossed that I can get in before my meds lapse again, because I know MHC will not provide what I need. They have proven that time and time again. I sincerely hope that anyone and everyone else has a different experience than I have.

Highly do not recommend. Felt very unsafe being there. I just moved to the area and needed to get my medications, due to my insurance being out of state this was the only option. They would not give me all my psychiatric medications I’ve been on for over a year. The ones they did allow me to get were 148 mg lower than what I’ve been on. I have been out of my medications for over a week, and the office has been closed due to snow. Telehealth calls rescheduled. It blows my mind that people can go without needed medication and they don’t seem to really care about that. I would think a mental health office would understand that people need meds, and can’t afford to stop taking them cold turkey. Best of luck to anyone going here for drug rehab, mental health or anything else. Seems like people just get swept under the rug here.

Hi, Nicole! Perhaps a good place to begin this journey would be to talk with your primary medical provider about your specific needs. If you see a psychiatric provider, you could also talk with them. Hope this helps!
