Hampton Inn Ottawa (Starved Rock Area)

You will not find a Hampton Inn with a more welcoming and pleasant staff. We have stayed here often and the quality never wavers. The breakfast was delicious and our pets were given treat bags! This truly is a lovely place to spend the night on our cross country travels.

The NIGHT STAFF was very welcoming and helpful. The Day staff also pleasant, with the EXCEPTION of one person. I checked in on 4/8 in the afternoon. I did not get her name but it was a lady who is appears to be in her early 40s, smoker, and of course works the front desk. I called over the phone to check for room availability 5 minutes before arriving. Before I got there I made a reservation online since it is cheaper. I get there and she tells me " I can waive the cancelation fee." She tells me this 2-3 times. I feel assured, right? Nope! I got a wierd vibe from so I checked my bank account and I got charged 10 dollars. I stop by to inquire about this and she tells me "[ you'll get that back it's only if you break furniture or something]." Really? A 10 dollar deposit/fee. That's the best excuse you have for intentionally charging me 10 bucks. Car rental companies usually ask for 200 dollars. She lied to me, thanks for that. Incompetent individual employed at The Hampton. My point: Stop being a liar! I'm not sure how if these reviews carry any value to your business, but those are my 2 cents or 10 dollars and 2 cents in this case. Have a blessed day.

Stayed here many times. The rooms are clean and the staff is professional and always helpful. Several times I have walked into the lobby without a reservation and they have always managed to find me a room.

The hotel is dated and could use a little work. Definitely wouldn't be more than a 3 if it wasn't for the staff. The staff was super friendly especially Jon and I got my room cleaned almost everyday. It's like preCovid.
