They made it very easy to find and adopt our dog. The staff is knowledgeable and great to work with.

I love everything about this shelter. Every time I go I see people walking the dogs, checking on them often, and taking care of the cats. All the cages for all animals are very well kept up. We got a sweet pitbull from here about 9 months ago and she has been the biggest blessing in my life and is actually my certified ESA animal now. She’s a cuddle bug and I love her to pieces. The vet at Harbor is even more incredible. She has helped out in every obstacle we had with our dog and now our new kitten. The staff is so friendly, encouraging and passionate about their jobs. I will never shop again I love to adopt and rescue these precious animals. Again this shelter does such an amazing job and all the staff have the biggest hearts for their customers and animals.

We adopted Moose! She's a great Dane and mastiff mix pup. 13 weeks and 43 lbs already! She's very sweet and deserves a good life! I wish the after care was responsive but other than that we had a great experience!

Hello, Don't know who will read this but in the year 2020 and 2021 I adopted 2 cats from harbor humane almost a year apart. The first cat is named Pacha (first picture), he's 3 and the light of my life. However when we adopted him he had a serious wound under his arm that was extremely infected. However that is not what was told to me. It was poorly stitched closed and I was told all I had to do was get the stitches taken out in a week and it would close up on its own. However that was not true. So when I took him to the vet a few days later they let me know the wound was infected and needed serious care that even surgery would probably not fix. It took 3 months of daily water therapy, weekly vet visits and almost $800 to fix. And when I contacted Harbor Humane to tell them of his condition and ask why they didn't tell me, they said they never lied to me and I just didn't understand them. He is now a happy and healthy kitty but it was just short of a miracle he survived after they neglected, how infected it was and gave him multiple useless surgeries. However my second cat wasn't so lucky. I adopted Hummus (second picture) in October of 2021. He was the sweetest cat I have ever met. He had a bit of a cough when I got him but I thought it was nothing I couldn't help fix. When I took him to the vet it turned out he was behind on shots and hadn't been tested for many diseases such as Feline lukemia and intestinal parasites. And of course he had Giardia which is a common parasite in shelter cats. I worked to help cure him but he just seemed to get weaker. Eventually one night he became unresponsive and I took him to the emergency vet where I was told that he had FIP. A incurable disease that makes your body fill with fluid and your blood stop flowing. His body temperature was low and he was in a ton of pain. And this disease spreads like covid does. And he was in a crate with 4 other cats who probably contracted it. At only 5 months old I had to put him down and it was heartbreaking. And when I notified the shelter they never emailed me back. I'm not saying don't support Harbor Humane as I do believe they are over worked and underfunded. But please be careful when adopting there, as many of their animals have not been properly cared for. I know I will not be adopting here again. RIP Hummus

My suggestion is to bring your family there with your 2 year old brother and have a meet and greet with any dog of interest. There are plenty there that need a loving home. Good luck!
Just an adoption fee and love
Jb bell still available
Buttercup & Abby would do fine with children. Jace & Dude like to jump on people so it is recommended that they go to a home with older children.
Not that I am aware of. There is a place in Muskegon, Noahs Project who is directly working with displaced pets from there.
Yes she is
I'm not sure but I know the do special clinics. I would suggest calling for the most accurate answer
ALL of the animals are kept in a separate area. You can't see them without a staff member.
I'm certain the volunteers do not have time to closely monitor this site. Call them on the phone to ask in real time these types of questions. 🖒
Yes he is.
When I was there yes. But u can call or check website to make sure
They ask about renting policies to make sure you are allowed pets.
I just got a Maltese mix for $75
Stray surrender is free
As long as they've been cleared by the vet you can take them home the same day.
They are doing walk ins.
If you submit your application in the building and vet reference can be immediately check and the animal is cleared for adoption you can take the animal home with you that day . If application is submitted online during non working hours usually it is reviewed the next business day and if approved you can adopt at that time . Call the office if you need to find out if your application has been approved..
If you contact Harbor Humane, they will tell you detailed info from a foster pet's profile (behavior, health history, etc.) And set up a meeting if you are still interested.
When we adopted our dog last weekend they were accepting donations
I wish i could help mire they are absolutely wonderful there. There is a young woman that lives out that way that i know would give your cat affection out of the world. But i don't know how to get you in contact with her. Harbor is an excellent place though. And I am truly sorry for tough decision. I hope this helps put your mind at ease.
Please contact the Humane Society via their website or by telephone. Usually, us that rate these sites don't work for services being rated.
They are not very good at answering phones or returning messages. Your best bet is to show up in person.
Yes they do
Alexandra Garica if they don't have space there ( Harbor) I would love to have this dog. I don't have any money to give you but I will take care of her really GOOD. I have been looking for a dog but I just can't afford to pay.
They might not have poodles but they have beautiful dogs and puppies and kittens and cats and they have fostor places that might ..You meed to go in and see
You gotta call the place
You can always call ahead of time. But I'm sure they would. By the way have you checked with your vet why he does that? Maybe bladder infection or kidney stones? That happened with my cat and that was what was wrong. Best of luck to you.
Yes Nala is still looking for a home. You can stay up to date on available pets on the website.
I dont know, sorry. Best bet is to contact their office monday morning. Good luck
I would recommend calling them. They have different dogs that come in every day.
Yes I would contact them directly. They are really busy so getting to Google questions might take a while. Good luck!
