All the comments below are accurate. These people are always away from their desk or on the phone. Oh and someone is always on a vacation. Where do I apply? They’ve had paperwork for my check a month in advance and still sent it to a closed account. Now trying to call them to get answers these people are always out and nearly respond. Just know your money will be played with without remorse. Don’t make any major plans unless you see the money.

I worked for a PA agency for several years and left my employment in October 2021. Subsequently, I provided SERS with the required information to transfer my accrued balance to my new employer's retirement fund in November 2021. To date, they have neglected to do so. The money has been sitting with them for over four months. My most recent follow-up was met with the excuse that the individual handling my account was out for several weeks. It is beyond unacceptable that they have been so careless with such a large sum of money, and they are depriving me of the opportunity to grow that money in my new account.

Very difficult to get to someone to get anything done to receive any type of information to leave any type of message ridiculous not the definition of friendly or customer service

I don’t understand why it takes 2 months for SERS to get your pension started. If you tell them two months ahead of retirement date there is no reason for that delay. People retiring from the military retire the 1st of one month...the 1st of the next month they get their pension.
