The Nurses and staff here were very compassionate and accommodating. I was treated respectfully, and made to feel comfortable during my stay. The food was good, and if you ever need a snack-they will provide them. All around one of the best Hospitals in Kentucky!

I would not recommend this hospital. My papaw had surgery and they left the wound open. This led to an infection. However, the main issue is that he was discharged with a known bowel blockage. He has not been able to keep food or water down for over a week (this includes time IN the hospital). We tried calling the surgeon three times with no answer or reply. Home health even attempted to call without response! We took him to the ER and he was admitted right away. He could’ve died! Now, the local hospital doesn’t want to do anything since UK did the surgery. It’s been a nightmare. He lost 25 lbs in less than two weeks. Also, don’t get me started on the lack of communication. We live over an hour away and the nurse would NOT contact us back. We tried for literally five days. When she finally did, she didn’t provide any valid information. I am very skeptical about him going back, but no one else will perform the surgery.

I would give this place a absolute zero if i could! I do however feel bad for some of the good nurses that work here because we did have a couple. Now to our unforgettable experience their pediatricians are as rude as they come... i mean rude telling us we are not alowed to leave even tho our baby was perfectly healthy had to stay 4 days because they said so.... we could leave but THE BABY WILL STAY! Worst place i have ever been just completely rude alot of the attitude was uncalled for.i will say this it is ans will be the last baby we have there or be there!

Care delivered here is likely second to none in the state. And for that, I'm appreciative. That said, the current "COVID" protocols are complete bunk, and we've been told different things by different people and even the same people when we've come to visit a patient. On Sunday, we were told that the patient could only have a max of two visitors per day. And that there were no exceptions. Only she had no visitors prior. Were told they called up to the floor to learn this - only when we talked to the floor and nurse ourselves, we were told this gatekeeper had NOT called up to the floor, and there had been no calls in relation to our visit. Saw the same thing happen to other guests the weekend before - they were told the exact same thing - only to call their daughter and learn she had no visitors. As for the Covid protocol (triple vaccinated here, folks) - one weekend, our temperature was taken. The next, it was not. Yet we were told it had gotten much worse in the span of a week. And there's also a significant difference in experiences between entrances, too. Old entrance - no such issues. New entrance - always an issue. How could that be? I get that UK wants to ensure the safety of their patients, their visitors and their staff. But get your act together and don't lie to visitors. It's not good for patients or family that's trying to visit.

Yes inside the cafeteria they sell pints
No
Campbell house
I'm not sure about Chandler but I think Good Samaritan does
1 person per patient, 2 with a child, and end of life are special circumstances
They do have something but its been so long, you would need to contact them for more info. I don't think there's any resources for initial visits. One last bit of advice, if the patient smokes tobacco or marijuana UK wont put them on any donor list until they have 2 successful clean tests. However, Jewish Hospital in Louisville will and are alot more accommodating. I know things can be expensive, it cost my family everything we had and we still lost my wife, one key factor imo was UK making my wife wait. I would advise going to Louisville hospital if its at all an option, and even if tobacco or anything else isn't a factor. Louisville are a more companionate and understanding hospital. I think they also draw from the same registry of organs as UK, so one wouldn't be quicker than the other, whichever one you did choose. But it would be quicker getting on donor list w Louisville. Good luck with your future endeavors. I hope your loved one gets all the help and care they can.
It is neuro floor
I was up there with my boyfriend for a month, they let me stay right in the room with him. It has a nice sized couch and a recliner that you can sleep in. You can even take showers in their room.
Maybe a few days...like 3
Perhaps, a "living will", or "advanced directive"?
Look near the vending machines near the cafeteria
Go to there buisness office ; they will work with you..if not UK is part of commonwealth. ...they can put liens on you ....they are not a non proffitt.
You can buy stuff there 24hrs I think. High prices tho
Multiple areas to eat at small cafes spread about and a Starbucks in the clinic the 23 hour cafeteria from 6am go 4 am is in pavillion A 1st floor
I really do not know but you can always ask the nurse or the cafeteria employees. They should be able to tell you about it.
Yes, they have a full range of maternity care.
Several, some more like coffee shops.
