Just don't use the transit center on the weekends Saturday and Sundays because busses only run once an hour and they do not all pull out at the same time. On Saturdays and Sundays if you take certain busses and try to catch others you will end up waiting downtown for an hour for the bus to come back. π

It's good that Lexington has buses that gets you from point a to point b. The only thing that I don't like is waiting on the bus on the weekend.

Usually we have no problem with the bus. My boyfriend and I live downtown and share a car so one of us will have to ride the bus fairly often. The rates are cheap, the routes are much faster than they are in our home town, and they go pretty much anywhere in the city or close enough. However training needs to be done better. I have been on several buses where the driver nearly hits cars constantly, they seem to struggle with staying in their lane rather than riding the line, and twice now they have told my boyfriend false information. Once was that a bus didnβt go to a stop that was mapped on the LexTran website for that route. The second time was that they donβt take certain coins for payment that I myself have used multiple times. So service is decent, the drivers just need to be informed and trained better.

Buses tend to run on time. Not overcrowded, but the 2 tier schedule structure can mean a very long wait if on the second tier and the first tier has already left. Bottom line is allow a two and a half transit time if you are going somewhere, even if it's a ten minute ride by car, can mean more than a two hour ride for the bus. The bus service does not seem to cater to the working people, but to those that are on disability, retired, or not working. Weekend service is worse. Prepare for over an hour layover at the transit center if you are on a different tier schedule. I had a bus show up four minutes early and the driver kept going, meaning because this is Saturday, another hour and ten minute wait. Sunday, would have been worse If you can find another way to get somewhere, try that. I hope that sometime in the future that Lexington gets a real bus service and realize people time is important. I would also like to know why Lextran is not cellphone friendly. There is not one single electrical Γ³utlet at center.
