I see why the reviews says this location’s customer service sucks!! I arrive at the 71st location at 8:05. Unaware of the closing time and enter the store to be notified rudely that they’re closed. No other words exchanged with the rude individual but “We Close!” 🙄 🤔umm…excuse me ma’am how y’all closed but I was able to walk in to the store where there were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS WAITING? 🧐 it’s not about what is said it’s about how. Y’all could definitely use some work with customer service at this location as I frequently visit the Aurora location and the people there are so pleasant…such a MAJOR difference. Only giving a 4 stars because of my experience at the Aurora location.

Do not get the shrimp and grits! You literally can make your own grits, sauté some shrimp and put it on top because that’s exactly what they did. There was absolutely no flavor. And what I really wanted wasn’t ready

So happy I came across this restaurant. The shrimp & grits is so tasty. Very reasonable prices . The fried green tomatoes are tangy and fresh. Eat them while hot to get the full flavor profile. I'll be taking this trip down lake shore drive any day.

I have been there numerous times. The food has always been good, the prices are reasonable, calling in ahead will definitely shorten your wait.

Question. When you get bad service at a non black establishment, are you so quick to call them out?? Not saying to accept bad service from black businesses. I'm saying to give them the opportunity to get it right! Call them on that and see if anything changes!
In addition to Social distancing, mask and gloves are worn by all employees and customers. No contact ordering and paying, Call ahead for speedy check out, routine sanitizing wipe downs and sprays throughout the day, continuous hand washing by employees and available hand sanitizers for all employees and customers.
