I never go into places right before they close because I don't want to make the employees stay. In this case I only needed to mail an envelope so I went in. I was standing in line for several minutes behind 2 other people when someone from behind the counter walked over and told me that they were closed. I said I had been there for a few minutes and showed her 6:03 on the clock. The door is loud so I don't know how she could have thought I just came in, but she told me that I was not there, then told me "I deal with people like you every day," so too bad and come back tomorrow. Mailing my envelope could have been done in less time than this short interaction took. There was only one person working at the counter there and it was someone else. I'm not sure what she was doing back there but I know it wasn't being helpful, pleasant, or aware of her surroundings. 2 stars because she told me her name when I asked, giving me the wonderful opportunity to put it down here. I don’t usually do these but I have to commend the great customer service offered by Amy. We had an appointment to renew my daughters passport in the Ardsley post office. After arriving we were told they no longer handle that there and that we should try other post officed in the area that may be able to help. We stopped at two other post offices and were turned away immediately after being told we had to make another appnt. Third time was the charm when we ended up on the Scarsdale office and explained to Amy what had occurred. She explained that she had to take care of those that had appnts scheduled there but that if we were willing to wait she would help. She went above and beyond to assist me and my family and we were able to get everything taken care of!
