This is an animal-first organization that truly cares about the welfare of their "clients". I've recently had the opportunity to spend some time working on the property and have witnessed first hand the lengths that are gone to ensure quality of life for the dogs and cats. If you're considering volunteering / workingfor this organization, please look into it. It will be time well spent.

These effete places do SOME good work, undoubtedly.. but their business model is catered to those who want to do volunteer work & those who want to trumpet their "rescue" for the world to know what good people they are. Do yourself a favor and go to the Hartford or New Britain pound (etc.) and get a great, loving dog for $50. For the most part, dogs are what you make of them. Also, breeds suck.

I love volunteering here. The cats are wonderful. Staff is caring.

This is the most amazing place I’ve seen for pets. They truly care for the pets they have, and they seem to know these pets very well. Their cats and dogs all have massive rooms to live in and have the best amenities available. We are convinced that this is going to be our place for adopting pets.
