Costco is the best. Best quality meats and seafood. Paper products are awesome and excellent warranties on electronics. Return policy is great as well. Can't beat their gas prices either.

What a horrible customer service experience. I signed up for a Costco Membership and had to stop at the store to get it. Both cashiers were occupied so I was waiting a minute. That’s fine. A guy decided to cut me in line. Although the cashier called him out for cutting, she also scolded me for not lining up properly. There was no sign or anywhere telling me where to line up and I was behind another couple at a register so I thought I was lined up in the right place. If I didn’t already pay for my membership, I would’ve bolted at that moment. But I stayed and I shopped. I got to the register. The lady checking people out didn’t have a visible name badge and was wearing normal clothes so I thought she was a customer and I thought I was at a self-checkout. She then started yelling at me for not putting my stuff on the belt. I realized at that very moment, she was an employee and possibly a manager because of how she was dressed. She then yelled again because we were not by the keypad. I honestly will be trying the Sun Prairie location next time because the staff made my experience more stressful than it needed to be.

Because of many reasons we shop here. Employees are generally paid much better than the other BIG BOX store, and hands down much cleaner than the BOX STORE down the road. Very good selection of most everything you may want or need, or order it online. Prices are always a little cheaper than the other store. Everytime I had a question, someone would either know the answer, or "let's go find someone to help you" attitude. We quit going to the other BOX STORE because of many many reasons.

The best time to go to Costco is during the day. It’s a little busier around the lunch hour, but you won’t see me there on weekends. This visit around lunchtime on a Thursday was efficient due to plenty of employees doing what they do. Went in, picked the 3 items I intended to buy, somehow found another $100 worth of things I didn’t intend to buy and used the self-checkout to pay. It moves quickly, and there are employees hovering for alcohol age verification and other assistance. Since I’m a member, I’ll be back!

Do you have hours for people with health issues, so the crowds are less?

Supposedly it is in the first hour before they officially open. However, I once got there 15 minutes before they were to open and found the place packed with many people - most appeared to be in their 40's or 50's with a few in their 60's or 70's. They do not seem to be taking the guideline seriously. That was, however, before the manager started standing at the door. Not sure what it is like now.

Costco's strategy is to not always place the same type of goods at the same place all the time so that you are looking around and discover new items and purchase them.

Can I visit the store before becoming a member?

Yes. They have a process for that that they'll guide you through when you get there. You need a membership to purchase, but they have a trial program. Or they did years ago before I joined.

Tire warranty sounds great. Until you get a nail and actually need repair. Oh, make an appointment, except no appointments open in next 4 days. You can walk in...........and wait and wait and wait. So why offer the warranty if they can’t deliver?

I'm guessing it's really difficult if not impossible to staff exactly according to the eventual needs of customers, so they likely base it on past history of usage/demand, and guesstimate. However, I think the stores are designed pretty similarly, so even in an area with outrageously High service Demands, a typical Costco garage size probably can't keep up until they open additional stores. I did not have this problem when I had a flat while on vacation. They serviced me relatively quickly out east, and when I've stopped by the garages just wanting to have my tires pressurized, they've squeeze that in between rotations. I do wish it didn't take as long for rotations, but any other garage requires me to schedule and leave the car there for at least that long and usually much longer. At least with Costco, I can get shopping done and it takes me almost the whole time to finish that.

Yes, but they will permit alternatives as long as they cover your mouth as and nose (such as a scarf)

What are the Covid safety practices like here?

Masks are required and staff will say something if you take it off or it isn't on properly. All staff wear masks and sanitize things regularly. Only 2 people allowed in the optical area at a time and every frame touched is sanitized. I feel safe shopping here.
