I reached out for a question related to the traditions and received a thorough response that helped with a service committee I am on. AA saved my life. It works if you work it.

You can always count on them to help you either with getting help for loved one friend or relative or even directing one to Al-Anon for the friends and family. The site is fantastic.

I went to southside fellowship and Alcoholics anoymous asked me not to come to meetings again due to a medication i was taking for cancer. They do not keep to singleness of purpose of alcohol. It seems its more important policing and acting as if they are gods of political power. Which they are not. I flipped trucks when i drank alcohol. I havent drank in 4 years. But vines always ruin wood as i have been told. They should only care about men and women who have had problems with alcohol. The traditions arent held to this either. Alot ofr Bilaws being broken. Police, Politicians church and aa should never be mixed.

The 63rd Florida State Convention is being held at TRUMP NATIONAL DORAL MIAMI How was it chosen Donald Trump and Children being supported by AA. There is to much controversy around Trump Administration.

Tyrone Tyus | Oct 7, 2019
Jeremy Wilson | Oct 7, 2019

Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues, lest the AA name be drawn into public controversy. Because of this, I have no comment. It is an outside issue. I apologise, but it isn't AA's concern. Hotels are hotels. We don't choose them based on the politics or beliefs of their owners. It doesn't concern us.

how do an AA group do a group inventory

Brenda Streat | Oct 7, 2019
Stephanie Mandel | Oct 7, 2019

Great question. There’s actually a suggested format or questions you can find. Not sure if they’re in the AA group pamphlet or if I found them searching on the aa gso website. I would start there though. Lots of resources.

Is there any stipulation to the AA slogans at the top of the meeting room ie Size limitations or color of the writing ?! Many thanks

Nigel Duffy | Oct 7, 2019
Robson Fernando | Oct 7, 2019

Does not exist. Each Group is animated by a single primary purpose - to convery its message to the alcoholic who still suffers. So these issues do not affect fellowship.

Where is it that you have to use only aa approved literature to have an aa meeting.Such has a reading out of a meditation book form hazelden?

A Google User | Oct 7, 2018
Stephanie Mandel | Oct 7, 2019

I don’t think it says that anywhere but most agree the answers are In the big book. Groups are autonomous except when it can impact AA as a whole. If the conscience of your group decides to use non-AA approved literature that’s fine. Many people may have opinions. There are always other groups. My sponsor always says if you don’t like it you can always start your own group. I have to look at my own behavior and my urge to control everything. Acceptance is the solution to ALL my problems today.

What is AAs position on medical Marijuana? I know of 2 people in AA that claim they are sober, but are using medical Marijuana. One of them just got elected as our district chair. What is AAs stance on this?

jodi gaspar | Jan 9, 2022

AA has no medical opinions. It's a prescription from a medical Dr so that's between them and their Dr

AA to get the money for what? And what does Amazon have to do with your questions? I would be happy to help!

The Preamble wording has been revised through group conscience at the 2021 World Service Conference. Each AA group is autonomous. I understand that but our AA group thinks it can vote to continue using the old wording which is not inclusive.

Nancy Johnson | Oct 6, 2021
Skooter Buck | Oct 6, 2021

I have no idea what " Guru's " say, but anyone capable of comprehending the English language can decern the solution for alcoholism as offered by AA begins on page one and continues to page 103. The "Doctor's Opinion" is just that....a supporting professional opinion. As with most books, the Big Book begins on page one (1).

GSO of NEW YORK can I be accepted as a "lone member"? I have tuberculosis and I can not attend any group in Cusco-Peru. since I do not want to take chemical drugs recommended by professionals, but I decided that it is GOD my cure 3rd step.

Walter chacón farfan | Oct 7, 2019
Bill Cano Jr. | Oct 6, 2020

I use to be a Combat Medic and a Civilian nurse . If you don't take medication you will spread TB . Also God isn't going to cure you of TB or Alcoholism as long as you don't take care of your self !

Do you loss your AA sobriety if you use drugs you purchase from a known drug dealer.

Norma Wendt | Oct 7, 2019
Stephanie Mandel | Oct 7, 2019

Depends on who you ask. I know for me that to take an illicit drug into my body or even to use a prescribed drug in a non prescribed way would be a lapse for me. You should talk to your sponsor about it.
