We camped at the West end, mostly treeless area of the campground, which I think was a better bet than the East end, woodsy/swampy/mosquito ridden side. But, either way, we fell in love with this lake. Well maintained, clean outhouses, beautiful scenery. The pictures make it look dull and boring, but the zen we felt there was incredible.

Great campground with easy access to the lake. Boat ramp (no motors) and swimming/fishing dock are in good shape. Only 20 minutes to the top of the Steens and various viewpoints. We had heard that mosquitos were a big issue but we didn't encounter any on our trip in latw July. It was hot and shade was critical, so bring your own if you have it.

Questions & Answers

I was here with a tent about 2 years ago, but now have a pop up trailer. Would there be spots for a pop up with easy access? We were in the wooded small campsite area and I don’t remember about access with a PUP.

Yes plenty of spots for bigger trailer may want to get there on a Wednesday or Thursday though
