Not much good can be said about this. Our service was good, but the food, not so much. For an appetizer, pretzel bites were buttery and fresh but overloaded with salt - even for a pretzel. I went the route of “fresh” oysters, both raw and baked. The baked oysters couldn’t have been bigger than a nickel - and the raw half shells were shucked so poorly that I had to eat with caution due to shell remnants. My wife had a burger that was very middle-of-the-road at best, but cooked to temp and very juicy. I wouldn’t go hungry if it were available, but in comparison to other restaurants in the park (I’ve had them all) this one simply isn’t on the same field.

I’ve been to Hickory Tavern more times than I can count, and every time was better than the last. I am always impressed with the consistent smiles and greetings from the hostesses as well as from all of the servers each time I am there. Everyone seems to love their job and it shows. This is a GREAT restaurant with many food choices that is sure to please anyones palettes. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced and the quality and service is consistently GREAT. Last but not least is the management, which is lead by Trent, who is a very friendly and wonderful person. Trent is a working manager who greets, serves and ALWAYS has a big smile as he checks on every table to make sure everything is to your liking. The servers are all great but Tina is my standout as she has stayed with the restaurant through the pandemic and is always positive with a go to attitude. Both Trent and Tina are true asset’s to the restaurant with their outgoing personality’s and wonderful service. If you have not been to Hickory Tavern in Biltmore Park is Asheville, NC., you are in for a real treat. ENJOY!! Philip

Great bartenders. Good food. But for the third summer in a row, the AC isn’t working and we’re getting the same excuses. I don’t understand how any self respecting human being can expect their staff or customers to put up with sitting in 80+ degree temperatures inside, and I can’t imagine what the kitchen staff is dealing with. Either spend the money to fix it, or reassess if your business should be open. Yes, first world problem. I’m aware.

We met our friends at the Hickory Tavern on Tuesday night around 6:00 PM. The restaurant was not busy, in fact u could count the number of people eating. We order dinner, waited one hour to get our dinner. When the food arrived three orders were cold and the other dinner was not the correct order. The server corrected the problem but what a fiasco. Good thing we were with our friends to enjoy one another. I would not recommend this restaurant until they get their act together.
