I was not greeted as usual as a Platinum member. The lock on the door was falling apart. The mattress was partially off the frame. My sisters room had no water. They did get her a different room. Service was less than excellent. No water downstairs so no coffee for breakfast. This Fairfield was much below the standard for Marriott.

3 nights. No sleep. This place is just a tarted up freeway motel on the Super 8 end of town, complete with rigid mattress, rackety baseboard a/c and folks walking their mutts around in the halls. Hopefully the airport will grow enough to attract some more lodging competition to the area, so this joint can be converted to a Motel 6 and represent itself honestly.

We hit Amarillo as subzero temps and blizzard conditions (really!) moved in. I had reserved via Priceline but the reservation was not coming through. The General Manager, Elijah Gonzalez, was incredibly patient and helpful. He offered to match the price and speak with Priceline so I didn't get charged double, and he even waived the pet fee after he saw we also had a dog along. Thank you, Elijah! We then had to stay an extra day because of the weather. It was a good place to get stuck - quiet, clean, room refrigerator, guest laundry, consistent internet & great breakfast spreads!
