Urgent Care - Charles Town

Edit: WVU urgent care has gone downhill even further. They seem to have staff quality issues. The staff doesn’t listen to you and they just treat you like you are there for pain meds even when you make it clear you don’t take pain meds. Might be worth it to drive further to find a better healthcare system. Old review: The check in process really sucked. I get the waiting outside due to covid. I think that’s a great measure. I understand that I need to do the check in process over the phone. Ok. But what I don’t get is why the receptionist kept putting me on hold, sometimes without even saying ‘hold on’ or ‘please hold’. It was like she was talking and then I just heard hold music. This happened 4 times during the check in time. There I was with a broken bone (didn’t know that yet) but I explained I was in pain...and she actually at one point said “you are breaking up” and immediately I hear hold music. Hey. Uh. I’m in your parking lot like you asked. I have no control over the signal strength. How about helping me to get through the check in process so I can be seen since I’m in pain instead of randomly putting me on hold? Covid is no excuse for this off-putting treatment. I’m a patient. Please at least respect me enough to ask if you can put me on hold?! Once I was allowed to enter the facility, the nurse, PA, and X-ray tech were much more professional than the receptionist. They took very good care of me and wait times were fine. But I was so annoyed and frustrated with how I was treated initially that it caused me unnecessary stress. This place needs to train their people to be considerate of patients. Just because I’m not standing in front of you doesn’t mean you can disregard me.
