I used to frequent Camera and Darkroom about a decade ago but haven’t been in many years. I was needing a few simple camera supplies so I called first to make sure they were open, gentleman said they were, so I drove down. There was a sign on the door stating they just moved to San Mateo/I40 area as of a few weeks ago, which was not mentioned over the phone. I drove around twice at the supposed new location and could not find them. The Google listing still says Washington location. I would like to support this business but some signage would be helpful.

The store is very cool and has a decent selection. However the customer service is poor. The gentleman that I have spoken to the last few times I have been in there always has a sour attitude. He is very knowledgeable, but don’t ask him to see something more then once.

I’ve visited this store on and off for over 15 years. Yesterday I was there after an eight hiatus, Art, the owner, was his pleasant self. I’ve purchase equipment, film, supplies and most recently a vintage 1920’s Korona wooden view camera. Art has always been helpful and knowledgeable. Will be back for another toy one day!
