This monument is at the southern end of the park and right on the water. This means the closest hotels are in Crystal city across the river or to the north of the mall. When is this monument scheduled to be removed from public?

Terrie Zinser | Oct 7, 2017
Jaret Sullivan | Oct 7, 2018

This memorial is not scheduled to be torn down. There was nothing in its place prior to its construction, so nothing was removed to make way for this memorial. It is an important part of American history and should not be removed at all. There is no "white history" and "black history," just American history. The good should be celebrated. The bad should be remembered so as not to be repeated. How that is done should be obvious.
