Great place to stay. Comfi beds, room walls a little thin as you can hear the neighbors very easily. The lighting can be better. For example a switch by the beds that controls all lights. Here you have to get up and turn them all off one by one. Not so fun when your half asleep.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Deer Park, IL for 4 nights: Thursday to Monday Pros: Nice hotel, clean room, great location for activities for north of Chicago. Nice walking paths so that you can rack up a few miles, walking distance to Deer Park shopping mall and restaurants. Morning breakfast is OK - eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast, make your own waffles, oatmeal, cereal, apples, bananas, yogurt- it gets your day off to a pretty good start. If you’re looking for peanut butter, you need to ask them, they don’t put it out but it’s under the counter. Great patio not facing the parking like some Hampton Inn’s I have stayed at. Well maintain hotel. Cons: Customer service is not at the top of their list after you check into the hotel. Since cleaning the room is on a request only, which I’m not complaining about that, they are not attentive to any requests that you may have. We asked for two extra towels at 8AM on Friday after breakfast, and was told they would bring them up to the room, it never happened. I went down at 6PM and requested a second time and they gave me the towels. The light above the sink went out on Friday afternoon and only the far light for the shower and toilet was working, I informed them and they said the maintenance man had left and would fix it tomorrow on Saturday. I called around 3PM on Saturday about the light and was told that the maintenance man had another daytime job other then the hotel job and he would get to it. My wife did her hair and makeup in the hallway where the light was above the full length mirror. On Saturday I asked for a roll of toilet paper since we were getting low, 1/4 on the roller and 1 full roll under the sink when we checked in on Thursday. At 3 PM on Sat we still hadn’t seen anyone bring a roll up, at that point when we went out for dinner, we bought a 4 pack of TP at Target. We checked out on Monday and the light above the sink was never fixed. Staying 1 or two nights, you may not notice the lack of customer attention or service, but any longer you may notice it. It’s ashamed that the lack of training for customer service is missing, but I know how hard that job probably is, especially with how rude people are to the service industry, but I thought if you’re nice to them they would be attentive to me. Not so much! I never pressed the issue with the light in the bath room, except for asking that second time. Have fun in Chitown!!

Horrible customer service related to room blocks and inflexibility to accommodate specific requests. We ended up with guests at 5 different hotels because of the unwillingness to provide the number of rooms we originally requested. It would not matter when guests call to book or how soon if the number of rooms requested were in the block.

Hotel felt safe and secure. Our jacuzzi room had a electrical problems. There was a short circuit where the vent didn't work and a light near the Jacuzzi didn't work. It worked for a few moments, and then shut off, and stayed off. Price was slightly higher then the booking I reserved when I arrived. Should have just paid online instead of at the location. Never had an issue before regarding prices when I pay at the location. Pay online and not at the location if booking online. Had a box of soap by the jacuzzi, that was empty, no soap in it. Quiet environment Decent breakfast, gets the job done. The king jetted tub room is very spacious, absolutely my favorite part of the stay The jetted tub was a bit outdated, not sure where the black particles kept coming from in the tub. Showered prior to going in but still saw some small particles floating around. Not sure if this is because of the rooms floor or not? But still was a little gross.
