You’d think a country would pick capable people to work at a consulate but it’s obviously not the case here. Went to pick up a passport but couldn’t get it because the system was down. I understand things happen but the lack of care and remorse for the fact that I drove 2 hours to get there was unbelievable. And if that wasn’t bad enough the lady at the front desk had the worst attitude. Like I’m not saying you should jump up and get exited when someone walks through the door, but it a “least good afternoon how may I help you” Something needs to be done about the place

Do not apply for a visa with them , they are wasting your time, we provided them 100's of documents for a visit visa, and they still kept going back and forth for days. Do not waste your money and do not pay them $100 for a visit visa as they will not refund your money and will not issue the visa. They do not answer the phone, I called multiple times a day. I left voicemails and still no answer. I have applied for many visas for many countries but they are the worst consulate to apply for. My travel date has passed and still was not able to get a visa from them. Please do not waste your money. They will not give you any attention. Bahama Consulate will waste your time and money. My family was planning on going to the bahamas for a vacation but we just get emails from them to keep upload useless information for no reason. Our trip had to be cancelled as no one answered back or called back . Attention if you give them $100 visa fees you will regret it. The consulate does not have any respect for the travellers time or money, i was going to spend $20,000 with my family to the Bahamas island but realizing the Bahamas consulate does not pay attention to our emails, calls or messages. It shows the lack of respect and attention you give their visitors. I will not be going to the bahamas anymore, instead have decided to goto Mexico.

Dear Cynthia, We just opened a gmail account to assist in answering the queries here. For all US visa related inquires, you should contact the United States Department of State website. Here's the link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html "While you are in the United States, receiving a change of status from USCIS does not require you to apply for a new visa. However, once you depart the United States you must apply for a new visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the appropriate category for your travel." - US DOS Website

Hello Rick, did you ever receive an answer to this question?
YES. Please note that an official letter must be received from your probation officer in support of your request to travel to The Bahamas. This letter must contain all biometric information - ie. Date of birth, name, all aliases, present address, charged case information etc. - related to the requester as well as a report from the Probation Officer of time spent on probation. The request should also include notarized or certified copies of your passport or related travel document/s. This information is then forwarded to Nassau, The Bahamas for approval by the agency responsible for these matters. Unfortunately, without the necessary documentation referenced above, the Consulate General is unable to process your request. Each case is reviewed on its own merit, and as such, there is no timeline or associated processing time-frame. Every decision is final. Should you have any further questions, please call 212-421-6420.
Dear Peggy: I refer. Please note that notarization, attestation and legalization are done by appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays only. Appointments are received via phone call 212-421-6420. The Bahamas’ overseas Missions no longer complete the Apostille process. You must contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consular Division in Nassau, The Bahamas for these matters. Should you wish to make a notarization, attestation or legalization appointment, we would require the name and contact information ie phone and email contact for the individual requiring the services. The cost is $60.00 per notary signature and $20.00 per witness signature should the Consulate General provide same. Finally, be reminded that 2 official state ID’s – one a passport - are required at the time of the appointment.
