We have been engaging Morris, Downing, and Sherred for decades, in particular Dave Johnson and his direct associates. Dave has been a family friend for nearly 40 years and has helped us with a variety of issues over those years, from the very simple to the very complicated, but what gets overlooked often is the support team he surrounds himself with. While Dave is unquestionably an exceptional attorney in every sense of the word, his legal assistant, Irma Smith, owns a big piece of the Firms’ wonderful reputation. We have worked with Irma now several occasions over the years and she has never failed to surpass our expectations of what a legal support expert should be. Most recently, Irma helped us with a real estate purchase involving a very difficult and uncooperative cast of characters. Irma acted as a conduit between us and Dave, as well as all parties involved, at all hours of the day (and evening!), as well as while she was on vacation. There were times when we just needed to either blow off some steam because of the temperamental nature of the parties we were dealing with, or work her magic with a critical scheduling issue we may have been facing. No matter what the situation, Irma was there for us at every turn, never making us feel rushed or she had no time for trivialities. I’m sure Irma had plenty of other tasks to handle in a day, but we never felt like we took a back seat to something more important at any time. She was always proactive in our dealings, letting us know in advance of important timelines and deadlines, checking in on us just to see how we were doing along the way, and always with a genuine caring and a fantastic sense of humor that has eased us on so many occasions.
