It is fascinating how organizations choose the people that answer the phone and questions. Contacted the senior center and explained my father who has dementia, wanted to visit and do activities there, with his caregiver. The woman was stumped, on why he couldn't be left alone. Shockingly a senior center wouldn't understand how a man with dementia shouldn't be left alone? That is the reason for the caregiver. So he can still experience day to day activities. However, to be told this, is sad and silly. Mesa you have to be better. Vet the people that answer the phone and represent the senior center. Sad. The good news is, when making the call to Gilbert they gladly wanted my dad and his caregiver. Two totally different worlds.

I urged my brother in law to go here. He had recently been told that he can't work due to health issues and being homebound was ruining his spirit since he is a social butterfly... This place is super great!! It is big and clean and the staff are helpful and friendly... They offer lunch M-F at 1130 for only $3.50. They have movie time, medicare learning seminars, an exercise room, exercise classes, and all kinds of activities. If you know a senior who is stuck at home and lacking socialization then they may benefit from going here. The annual membership fee is minimal... They also helped my brother in law to apply for transportation assistance because my sister still works and can't always drive him to the facility. Great place in Mesa

Free tax preparation is Monday through Thursday. It is on a first come first served basis. It starts at 8 AM. People typically start lining up by 7 AM or so. They can do about 20 returns per day. It is a great service.
