Mental Healthcare in this state is a joke. I am assuming every red state it is just as bad if not worse (technically we are a blue state but not really). Very little funding, questionable ethics, burnout because too many need help and not enough money and resources to help. Having said all that I think this place is better than most and are making an honest effort. But what is really needed is a lot more money spent on mental health, job training, counseling, better legislation, less bureaucracy, fewer agencies, better training, etc etc....

Im thinking there outpatient program is a good idea. I'm pretty sure that's where there real ticket is.

STAY AWAY. While there are people that say they've been helped here - and they may well have - I found the facility anything but helpful. In fact it was a horrible experience. Here's my issues with this facility: - You're stuck with a roommate; there are no private rooms. And that person could be anyone from someone who's dealing with mild symptoms of depression all the way to a full-on raging alcoholic who makes constant noises at night. Or worse. - They have an very bold bias towards military and first-responders, making anyone outside of that feel they are less-than. - Most of the staff is there for a paycheck. Very few have a the right patient, caring attitude towards a behavioral facility that is supposed to be the first step towards recovery - regardless if it's substance abuse or suicidal depression. - The Dr's (psychologists/psychiatrist) spend very little time with you; less than 5 minutes typically. So there's almost no opportunity to actually talk things out. Same for case workers. My best, helpful conversation was with a tech. - The group sessions are facilitated by people who really have no business leading a group of people in some form of crisis. At best they'll gloss over some handouts they give you. Most of the time they've got nothing of real-world experience to share or help you with. Just off-the-cuff commentary. Useless, annoying and not at all helpful. I left there feeling worse than when I went in. I simply said the right things so I could get released and out of there. Any behavioral health facility is going to be a tough environment to endure. Their first priority is to stabilize the patient from whatever ails them, be it depression or substance abuse, and hopefully get them either back home, to a safe environment or to a long-term rehab facility to continue treatment. But this first step is really critical to treat the people that come to them in the proper manner. My experience in dealing with the environment at Valley Hospital was far less than healing or helpful. If you want somewhere to go that's actually managed properly, has a clean environment, private rooms to give you space to rest and more, try Banner Behavioral in Scottsdale. 100% better.

Yes, they have a patient phone
Yes they do
There is no addictionologist on staff. They really have no clue what they are doing when it comes to detox.
I don't know.you have to call, i was only complaining about their little trees an bushes around the hospital in outside on the curve, that haven trimm it down, and it dangerous because you can't see nothing while trying to turn to your left heading towards the school, i almost got T.boned twice.
They now only allow three smoking breaks in the day. This is a new policy as of today. They do also allow telephonic contact during detox.
They put me into Precipitated W/D after giving me subutex at 24 hrs. coming off fentanyl. My new Dr. at an outpatient facility was appalled and said it should be given at 48 hrs at least. Makes sense, since the girl I spoke to on my unit that was transferred up there 2 to 3 days after her intake, said she had just been given subutex (after being there 2 to 3 days). It was a nightmare. There is also no addicitonologist there and my nurse, after pumping me me with meds on her shift and on her next shift, said 2 days later, she thought she was going to kill me, with all the meds she had given me. Stay away. They also lost all my belongings. Place is BS. They need an addictionilogist or better nurses and a better supervisor that is not named Deanna. She is a total wench!
Both, they do have an all women's unit, also co-ed. I believe they would accommodate based on your individual needs.
Yes
No
Be careful if there for fentanyl. They put me into Precipitated W/D by giving it to me at 24 hrs. Incompetence at best. Please be careful.
They accept ACHHHS, but do go elsewhere. This place is incompetent!!!
For? I'd start with e.r.
Yes and hopefully they don't 'lose' them, like they did mine.. Along with a pair of shoes and a book. Crooked place
