This is a nice urban trail to get outside with the family. The first mile follows the creek, then detours through portions of the city recreation area, before returning to the creek. The first mile and the last section offer some scenic views.

I lost my wedding band after showing the kids how to ride down the rapid, please let me know when you find it, silver mens with beveled edges,lost in the middle after the rapid. Beautiful trail. Please reply when you find it.

No, but you can at the Richard Martin Trail.
If you want to bring chairs and pick a spot in the shade, I've seen people have a small picnic on the trail. There is also a pavilion and picnic tables at Athens Middle School if you follow the trail there or you can start the trail there. My family enjoys walking this trail on weekends when we aren't busy.
