I think it might be a prerequisite when working for the city that you have to be extremely rude, and lack complete customer service. I called to get an update on a permit after I'd left 3 messages with no call back, only for the lady to bark that it takes a minimum of 15-20 business days (unheard of, I know The Colony isn't that busy. Plano, Dallas, Frisco, Lewisville, and cities much busier than The Colony have a much faster turn around). She rudely asked who I spoke with, I said I didn't remember the name, but described the person. She not only interrupted me the entire time, but snapped back "she's in the irrigation department, so I know she told you turn around time." No, she did not. Between non-existent customer service, staff being untrained in how to conduct themselves on the phone, and complete lack of communication, avoid doing any work here!

This city is so very corrupt. They will not help you if you call, email or speak to the city counsel. But God forbid you break your leg and miss mowing the alley. They will only do what makes them money. Move to another town before you move here.
