They're actually really nice and explain things well. Yeah the wait time isn't fun but the service isn't bad at all compared to other places

Quick, friendly and courteous service. Glad they aren't difficult to work with. I was nervous going in for my first time to register my pistol I just purchased.

I understand it's currently open to standard MV hours
The simple answer is you can not bring it into NY. Leave it secured in PA. You will have to apply for a NY permit which may take up to 12 months once you establish residency in NY. You will need 4 local county reference who are non relatives. A complete copy of the paperwork is at the NY Erie Web Site. NY has draconian gun laws, do not bring your handgun into NY a lot of morons were elected here and made our laws.
You can go to the pistol permit office and gave it changed to unrestricted.
Yes you can go in person and pick up an application. You also can print it out online double sided only and fill it out. Make sure you use black ink only. Also you have to do a 5 hr pistol permit course. You can do some online or find one to go in person.
Generally $50.00 for the course, depending on where you take it. There are other fees associated with it, E.G. fingerprinting. However, once your application is approved, and you purchase a firearm, it is $5.00 for your plastic card.
Address check to Erie County Clerk and send to 92 Franklin C/O. Pistol Permit Office
They give it to you at there office when you log your pistol on your permit.
