I’ve been meaning to post this for several months. My experience with the appraisal district was professional, courteous and very helpful. I believe it was Scott who helped us remove our AG exemption so we could get a refinance on our home. He walked us through step by step, had our information and information readily available and was respectful of our needs and issues. I’m going to have to go back again soon to work out a new AG exemption, but I anticipate it being as efficient as the previous visit. Scott told us to come to him if we needed anything in the future, that he’d be happy to help. Thanks for all you do!

As is the case with deal with most public entities in Van Zandt County. It is a frustrating mix of incomptiance and indifference to the needs of the people their employees are supposed to be providing services to and for. Don't waste your time, phoning these people. You will get incorrect or only partial information. Followed by an indifferent attitude. Avoid them if possible.

Yes. You will need Bureau Code # and property ID #s for each piece of property. File each piece separately and a convenience fee will be added.
I believe CenturyLink isn't the carrier where your at.
Without knowing the owner's name or property ID, I would recommend utilizing our interactive map service (https://vzcad.org/interactive-map/) to locate the property. Using the map you can click on a parcel to bring up the property information. If you are unable to locate the property using the mapping service, please feel free to call or visit our office. We are happy to assist you.
Taxes may be paid on a quarterly basis on residence homestead accounts for individuals qualifying for the Over 65, Disabled, or Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemptions if, the first installment is paid before February 1st and the payment is accompanied by written notice of the intention to pay quarterly. We recommend providing written notice by completing a quarterly payment form available in our office (or by mail/email upon request) that includes the quarterly installment payment stubs. Unfortunately, this option is not yet available online. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions or you would like us to mail or email you a quarterly payment agreement.
Yes, they will allow partial payments as long as your not involved in a "tax suit". Where you are being sued for back taxes by the county. Also, make sure you file your "homestead exemption" and also if you or your spouse is disabled. You would qualify for a discount.
