This is my second time staying here and I have enjoyed it both times. Its location is very good. Within walking distance of a movie theater and shopping plaza. It also has a bar out front with friendly staff, pool table, fooze ball, lottery slot machines, a little something for everyone. So, if you are staying in New Martinsville WV and want to stay at a place that's within walking distance of places and don't mind that its 2 star. Then the Plaza inn is the place to stay.

It's a decent place for the local guys to stay. I'm here on a visit. It's not the Hilton people. But it's actually way better than some of the other motels I've been in. We're in 410 on the back of the building. The room was as clean as I expected it to be. There's a no pets policy here. I have my service dog with me and nothing has been said. I always make sure to clean up behind my dog. As every dog owner should! The room smelled pretty stale of old tobacco smoke, it is a smoking room. The beds were nice and clean. If you're staying here I recommend you bring a glade plug in or incense to make it smell a little better. For the reasonable rate it's a good place to stay. Too many ppl expect 5 star accommodations at a 2 star price.

There's a noisy bar inside this motel that makes sleeping absolutely impossible on nights ending with Y. When we called the front desk and asked if they could tell the bar to turn down the music, since it was 2:30 and we have been unable to sleep all night, the hotel staffer suggested, "you can call or walk in yourself." The pounding from the music and the screaming drunk people gave me a headache that lasted well into the next day. All the rooms are smoking rooms, somehow in this day and age, making everything you bring into the room smell disgusting. Don't try washing it off, all the "bath towels" are actually bath mats, and do not dry you off. Without a doubt, this is the worst hotel stay I've ever had, and I've slept in hostels in Central America and Africa.
