I had no positive experiences here at this halfway house as a guest, but lucky for me I was personally never an inmate at this facility. I say inmate because that's how it felt for an acquaintance of mine, a veteran by the way. He was given no information when he arrives on the rules and how drop offs work, nothing. They would not allow me to take him necessities such as his toothbrush and toothpaste. More importantly, I had just wanted to take him some shower shoes and was denied. First they said there is a certain time for drop offs, then some other lady said no drop offs at all until further notice. That was a big red flag that these ladies in the front desk don't know what the hell is going on. Condescending and unwelcoming people. I tried on a different day to drop off clothes on the time that the one person said drop offs were accepted between 8am and 4pm, and was denied once again to drop off some essentials, because apparently someone else had came by without my knowledge to drop off my friend shower shoes finally. So now they added another rule that drop offs were limited to only one a day. Seemed to me like they were just lazy to be honest and making things up as they go. The attitude is what disgusted me, as this is a place that is supposed to be helping people, and yet the first thing you have to deal with when you walk through the doors is these nasty rude women. Hire better. My acquaintance caught a very serious illness here during his sta, by the way. Avoid this place if possible.

Im a resident in the drug and alcohol program, here i established a relationship with God for the first time in my life and went through the rehab and have gotten clean and sober through this program. I also have worked in the temporary emergency shelter during COVID-19 and have experiences as a staff member and resident. I couldnt speak higher of this place, it is the best rehab program i have ever been to and its literally a one stop shop for all your needs. The counselors and staff members are extremely experienced and highly helpful. Thank you Major Merill and Major Nancy 🙏

Not at this location. Building houses Work Release Center for the feds and it also house drug treatment program and then housing for those people that come out of that program. They have a program at 509 Desplaines that you can work if your homeless or whatever you can work and stay there and that is that is part of your rent before you working there they feed you and how they give you clothes and things of that nature 509 Desplaines right off Milwaukee Desplaines and Halsted.
