I went in for an eye exam and new glasses, the doctor working told me my optic nerve was “fuzzy” and said I should get an MRI. He said it could be nothing, but something like a tumor could cause this. No extra exams or scans were done by him. Of course this worried me and I worked with my normal doctor to schedule the MRI. 2 1/2 months later, I finally got referred to a specialist who told me what was going on and an MRI was unnecessary…. Save your time, money and worry by going to an eye doctor who will perform a more in-depth exam before jumping to getting an MRI.

Been a long time patient at Family Eye Center! Have been ordering sunglasses through them for baseball. They get their glasses in quick and they are super helpful! Thank you Erica!

I've been a longtime patient here and it has always been a pleasant experience. Nicole is one of the opticians and she does an amazing job! She is so helpful and patient with me and my family - we always take so long to pick out our glasses :) but she is always so nice with us and never makes us feel rushed. Aniyah seems new but is also a great help! That being said, when we were all just in for appointments, I witnessed one of the opticians, Raechelle, being extremely mean to her coworker Nicole. She was rolling her eyes, making rude faces and hand gestures to her and also pretty much telling her to get away from her when all Nicole was doing was trying to give her some papers regarding our glasses. I was taken aback by how unprofessional and visibly rude she was out in the middle of all of us patients. Sad to see them having trouble with staff like that and to witness another human treated that way. Made us feel uncomfortable and very uneasy. Good learning lesson for my kids at least.. Anyways I ended up making a complaint about it. Hopefully it helps in some way for a better work environment for the good staff members that are there. Kudos to Nicole for being the bigger person, keeping her cool and maintaining her professionalism.

Hi Johnathan. Thank you Marilyn. We will bill your medical exsm to your medical insurance. Depending on your copay and deductible there may be some out of pocket expense determined by your insurance plan. We would be happy to help prior to your exam to see what those costs would be with your insurance company.
Call to make an appointment, it's super easy and usually can get you in, in about a week
If you are 20 or younger, or pregnant, you need a prescription, and you are on Oregon Health Plan, you qualify for a pair of glasses. Yes, we supply them.
We can do one day, depending on your prescription. Most of our turn around is 3-5 days. If we are working with a vision pl as n insurance it can be 10-14 days because we are required to use their labs.
Yes.
Yes, we do.
We charge $99 for a vision exam if a patient does not have vision insurance. If they have vision insurance there may be co pays. If a patient has a medical condition, such as an eye infection, diabetes, cataracts, or glaucoma, to name a few; then their medical insurance will be billed. We always try to do what's best for the patient regarding their eye health and insurance options.
A full vision exam is $99. Single vision gasses with a warranty start at around $75. We have some discounted frames right now for $25 and we can do same day single vision lenses for most prescriptions.
