I was having car trouble as I travelled through to FL so I pulled in for help. I described a little of my issue to the person at the counter and he said it sounded like my transmission and gave me the phone # for AAMPCO. I asked if there was a mechanic close by and he replied “a mechanic isn’t going to work on your transmission” and I again asked about about a local mechanic and he pushed back and said “no mechanic is going to work on your transmission”. I told him lots of mechanics so all kinds of work and he said “well not around here they don’t”. Then he called me rude when I expressed my frustration at the conversation. 1) you don’t know what’s wrong with my car. You don’t know that it’s my transmission so just be helpful and answer my questions. I asked about a mechanic and you literally refused to give me anything other than a post it with the AAPMCO # on.
