What a wonderful place to just take a walk & enjoy nature! Clean & Beautiful

A very beautiful natural area at the junction of Latah Creek and the Spokane River, formerly a Spokane Tribe annual fishing and gathering place before their land was taken from them by White immigrants. The city has done a great job of improving the Parking Lot, landscaping, lighting, and walking access to the river, as well as the bike/pedestrian trail which goes from the parking lot to downtown as well as across Sandifur Bridge to the Centennial Trail. An important conservation area, with a great variety of native migratory birds; far better than nearby Finch Arboretum. There are quite a few walking trails, on nearly level ground. Yes, you will see some homeless people here, sometimes camping. I walk here all the time and have never had anyone bother me or ask for anything, other than the time (once). I've not seen anything "x-rated". What I see are people enjoying a natural area near the center of a mid-sized city. If you are scared off by the fearful reviews, I suggest stay in the suburbs…
