The good: awesome fishing, private lake, TONS for the kids to do, hayride on Saturday night, free outdoor movie, and a ton of kids for ours to play with. Every inflatable/toy was cleaned every morning because there are geese/wild animals. Very modern amenities, very clean and well taken care of. The...wish-i-would-have-known: Primitive camping sites along the lake (023-027 I believe, aka as T23-T27 on some maps) are NOT ON FLAT GROUND. While we made the best of it, we were not expecting that much pitch from the top of our campsite to the bottom. Beyond that, those campsites are not demarcated by anything, so we had to ask the owners to come down to settle a small dispute between us and the other campsite next to us as to where our campsite truly was. The other primitive sites around us were shown as booked when we booked it 24 hours prior, but there were 3 sites where we did not see anyone all weekend.🤷♀️ Boat rentals were affordable ($40 for 2 hrs with a trolling motor) but the female owner told us we had to have it back by 545. That's not 2 hours. Beyond that, she told us we could not take 5 people on the boat, when her husband said we could earlier that day. We had to rent lifejackets, which wasn't a big deal for us, and they were pretty affordable as well, but I had to bring them back by 9 pm on Friday night, just to go and rent the exact same ones 12 hours later on Saturday morning (that were still sitting on the porch from drying overnight). Maybe a possible weekend pass for renting life jackets? The primitive sites are also closest to the 4 lane highway, which made for a lot of road noise throughout the night. Not necessarily a negative for us, but just something I wish I would have known. The 11 pm quiet hour is not enforced, but by midnight, things were pretty quiet. Overall, we had a good time and my kids loved it! Lots to do, friendly people, and a good time. Definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, all sites have picnic table and fire ring. Water electric rv hookup but no sewer. Dump station near entrance. LOTS of water toys and special area for younger kids. 12 and under required to wear life preservers. Small camp store. Well maintained atea.

Our community organization The Black Platteville Community Network enjoyed an all-day fabulous time swimming, eating, dancing, gaming, fishing, playing cards, chillin and even went on a hay ride. This space was inviting and provided us a relaxing environment that we plan to visit again.

Had an absolute blast at Lake Joy. Found out about them on Travel WI as we were looking for a great place to fish and camp. They have a private lake with a ton of things to do (boat rentals, kayaks, inflatable water course and much more). We loved how close we were to the water. Very affordable and the owners are so nice. We will definitely be back to visit. If you are looking to support local, check these guys out.

The deepest point of the lake is roughly 35' deep- the area the swimming inflatables are located is between 12'-14'. We require life jackets for all swimmers aged 12 and under. ~Laura Manager

This campground does not rent out campers, cabins or tents. You must provide your own. They have nice campsites with picnic tables and fire pits.

Hi Kimberly, Probably not the best forum to let people know when you'll be out of town. Just know that I have your reservation in the system and we will see you soon ;) ~Laura Manager P.S. Our boat rentals run 10AM-5PM each day, based on safe wind speeds. All non-motorized boats (canoes, kayaks, fishing boats with oars and peddleboats) are $8 per hour and a fishing boat with trolling motor is $25 per hour.
Yes
There are spots for tents you have to call them
2 will fit side by side
We price sites based on people. Each site rate includes 1 family (2 adults and their dependent children (under age of 18) - OR- 4 adults. After that- each extra person is charged a day pass. But each person can have their own tent. Each site is different, (shape, size, layout, etc) but if you look in our gallery of site photos- you will see the tent sites are quite spacious. More than enough room for big "mom and dad" tent and kids to have their own pup-tents. Or a couple adults sized tents on each site.
