The central library is always a zoo now. Totally unruly. More of a hangout than a community resource anymore as people who go to the library yo make use of its services constantly have to complain about the staff and security not doing anything to discourage disruptive "patrons" who are just there to have a place to be. If they were considerate of others or if the library security did their job, there would be nothing to complain about but some of the security staff is even more immature than the teens and perpetual 13th graders who frequent this location. Get in early and get out fast or bring headphones. There is also a foodlink cafe with 2$ grilled cheese in the lobby.

The best library in all of NY. I am particul to them. They have all sorts of things that you can check out like mifi wireless Internet from T-Mobile for free to things you can use there like 3D Printers and a GloForge too. They have books, books on tape books on CD, brail books and books about brail, they have books for your e-reader and they'll help you get it connected so you can read. They can help you hold events galore and even have interpreters for every single use even during your event. They have classes for things like how to for beginners at computers and all kinds of databases some you would never think of. They have Empire Passes and that will get you into places free or cheap. They have patent and grant depts that will bend over backwards to assist you. Wanted to learn a language? Cool they have Pronunciator, it's just like Rosetta Stone. They have art galleries of local and international artists. Check them out. You will be glad you found this place. I know I am!

Very disappointed that the library has not updated its hours on Google Maps, a service that many people use much of the time. From Google telling me they were open until 5pm to the giant "We're Open" sign on the front of the building, I was surprised to find the doors locked and the posted hours telling a different story. The library has no business being closed on the weekends and, as a public service, should be open daily. Beyond that, at the very least, someone employed by the library should be updating their hours on popular map services rather than relying on unpaid pedestrians to submit changes to Google. Do better.

There are parking validation cards available at the circulation desk for up to two hours in either of the nearby parking garages. The one on the corner of Broad St and South Ave even connects to the library with an enclosed walkway.

Good morning Noel, replacements cards are $1 but if you are able to still present the card to the library and the number is legible they can type the card number in and still pull up your account if you don't want to replace it.
Yes, computers, with internet access, are available at all RPL branches for public use. Patrons can log into the computers using their MCLS Library Card or with a guest pass from the Circulation desk.
Both buildings are handicapped accessible. The west building has a ramp that you enter from Broad St. The east building's entrances are all accessible and you can enter at grade.
It is on the side of the library facing the little park across the street, the new building with all the glass windows.
Good morning Lzya, It depends on the material you are interested in borrowing. Most items that can be borrowed from the library can be checked out with your library card We recommend calling the library at 428-7300 or using our online chat service on https://roccitylibrary.org/ to speek with a reference librarian about the materials you are interested in.
What in the heck do you do? This is quite confusing.
You could definitely ask them at the Central library if they don't have it they will find the one that does and give you the location to where the book is.
