If you have a sliding glass door we installed, it may be possible to replace the panel depending on the age of the door. If the door is out-of-warranty or the frame is damaged, replacing the panel is not an option.

AWD sells and installs bi-fold doors. Bi-fold doors are sometimes referred to as accordion doors because of how they fold open. The “bi” in the name may suggest two panels but bi-fold patio doors are available with several panels that all “fold” on each other when opened.

An egress window is a window that is large enough to offer a means of escape in case of emergency. AWD offers several egress window options. Egress codes can vary from one municipality to another, so contact one of our installation experts to find the best solution for where you live. Double hung, casement and tilt turns are options depending on the square footage opening requirements in your town.

Yes. AWD supplies and installs glass doors of all styles and sizes. We offer a series of doors up to 47 feet wide and 12 feet tall. Sliding doors that slide into the wall when opened or stack on top of each other are options. We also have bifold and swinging glass doors.

The price of a window is determined by many factors, including style, size, glass features and options. Bigger windows with LoE or specialty glass and decorative grilles will cost more than the same window with less features. Plus, the labor and type of installation plays a part. The premium windows AWD supplies and installs will be a greater investment than the low quality vinyl windows you can find elsewhere.

AWD Authentic Window Design specializes in the replacement of windows, but we would be happy to give you some suggestions on taking care of the windows you do have. You should push the sash upwards, pull the bottom outward and lower the sash to remove it. Then, easily clean both sides of the glass. Be sure to clean the track as well. Vacuum the track first, and then clean with a gentle soap and water.

AWD cannot retroactively tint or frost your existing sliding glass door, but the new sliding glass doors we install have various privacy glass options including tint, frost and textured glass options. These glass options are available on windows also.

We can replace a window with a different type or style, and some size differences but a general contractor is needed to cut a new hole in a wall to add a window. AWD does not sell replacement screen doors or storm doors. The glass hinged doors and sliding doors we sell and install have screen options. The TruStile entry door systems also have screen door options. Was it a door AWD installed? Contact the manufacturer and/or contractor regarding your current screen door.

Excellent question, but not a simple answer. A ‘Design Pressure’ DP rating measures how much wind per square foot a window can withstand. A ‘Performance Grade’ PG rating takes into consideration water penetration resistance, forced entry, operating force and air filtration. The size of a window also affects the wind load it can handle. Larger windows generally have less resistance. If you are considering new windows in a high-wind location or area prone to hurricanes, speak with AWD. They offer IMPACT resistant glass to protect against wind and flying debris, they provide coastal window solutions, and they identify the rating needed for your specific location.

AWD does not offer windows with blinds between the glass panes. You can add quality after-market shades or blinds to your new windows and doors. Also, do research on windows with blinds between the glass. These products can be less energy efficient, blinds still need to be cleaned from time to time (not easy) and replacing the blinds if they break is a huge challenge.

If a window AWD sold and installed is under warranty, we can address the issue. Sometimes, depending on the age of the window, just the sash can be replaced. AWD specializes in the installation of new windows and does not replace broken glass in panes, fogged panels or fix screens.
