I was told by Chinelo Flores that I ask too many questions and her job is to diagnose and treat a patient. I should have called or emailed to have my questions answered. She told me that I took away from her seeing a sick patient. I am a new mom, and my child (2 yrs old) had been feeling miserable for two days (a sick patient) and in her visit to the ER last night with her father the notes said to follow up with doctor. An appointment was unavailable today with her local doctor. I misunderstood what it meant where it read “follow up with doctor”. Flores made it very clear to me what that meant. If I had known that my concerns/questions were going to be an inconvenience or cause frustration I would had never made the drive. Flores in a unprofessional manner (tone) addressed me my concerns/questions as stated in the beginning of this text. I had seen her prior to this appointment and she comes off very strong, cold and dry. Regardless, I viewed this being part of her personality but after today’s appointment and in the manner in which she addressed my concerns/questions there is no excuse for behaving this way. There is no kindness or compassion towards myself or my sick child. I am not a doctor but I am a human, and other than a doctor diagnosing and treating a patient I believe they should posses certain character traits such as compassion and kindness when addressing a patient or parent. My suggestion to make this a better experience specifically for Flores, is to practice kindness in how you address a parent or patient.

Isn't it convenient that the Monday after New Year's Eve weekend that 2 physicians call in "sick" today after we scheduled last Thursday and verified appointment for our sick son and they are not able to accommodate in any way and recommend urgent care. And this was after I was on hold for over 20 minutes, then placed back on hold for another 10 minutes. If this facility cannot handle its workload, then maybe it needs to reevaluate the number of patients it is accepting.

The doctor herself was adequate with my son, however, the nurse, and the phlebotomist who gave him his shots and were attempting to do an allergy test the same day were inattentive to mine and my wife’s wishes. We rescinded the request for the allergy test after observing his distress. Do not take away my child from his mother when she is attempting to comfort him! It’s not “fine” when we can clearly see that he’s not “fine”. We know our child better than someone who has just met him for a few minutes - on our first visit! We asked if the allergy panel could be conducted prior to the vaccinations, which they refused in a rude manner. They insisted the panel needed to be done the same day as the shots even after we identified his fear of needles. Also, after I submitted my son’s medical clearance request for school, they said it is a 48 hour processing time and that we will receive a notice when it is ready. I go in to the office 3 days after the request is submitted: they “don’t have it in the system”, do not see that we had faxed the request in, and they were about to turn me around and say that I need to submit another request after 48 hours of which it will be available to us (they told me this even after I told them that my son’s school has a deadline). After I provided proof of receipt of the fax submission, they just happen to find it “at the bottom of the pile”, with the signature dated for the same day. P.S. My son had bruises for days after his inoculation - has never had bruises after vaccination before.

If you have Medicaid I would reconsider going here as they will make you wait forever to book an appointment with the doctor that takes Medicaid. And even in urgent need they will not see your child until the Medicaid doctor is available, which is days or the following week ahead. I ask what are my options they say to wait or switch to another clinic. My daughter caught a staph infection which is very serious and needs to be seen periodically to see if it’s getting better or worse. This clinic does NOT care and will not work with you even if you have the Medicaid. And the office clerk was very condescending telling me what I did wrong and what I should’ve done. So this is how they treat Medicaid patients :). I’ll willingly take my daughter somewhere else. We never even got to the first appointment to meet her doctor because the Medicaid one was booked an entire month ahead. Pathetic and no sympathy towards their patients, how is this even a pediatrics place. So if you have regular health insurance maybe this would be a good place but they don’t care for anything else and will make you wait even it times of urgency.
