This station was constructed for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1918 and is the third station to be built at this location. The two previous stations were built in 1871and 1889.

Are there Ubers or Taxis outside the Salem Amtrak station if I need transportation ?

There are plenty of Ubers to find locally. Never more than 8 minutes away in my experience

I drive an Amtrak thruway bus and do not pass any hotels. I think google might help or Uber/Lyft drivers would be able to help. The station is about a mile from downtown or I-5. That would be where the majority of hotels would be I assume
