Don’t ship packages from this store, UPS store at 8918 W 21st N, Wichita Ks. Had a friend who took items to be shipped, purchased the box from them, had the employee pick the box that would hold all of the products. My friend brought in extra clothing and wrapped breakables in shrink wrap and bubble wrap to ensure the items were secured. She bought insurance to make sure it would arrive to her home in good order. The employee said he would make sure to put enough extra padding and bubbles/ peanuts in to not allow anything thing to move or break, it was close to closing so we trusted the employees to do their job, pack it accordingly and we left, trusting the business and the employees. The package arrived at its destination with the box dented in and several items broken. It was delivered with fragile on the box. Only to be opened and found that nothing (no extra packaging products were places in the top as the employee assured) he would place in the top to make sure that it was stable. Claim was filed through the insurance. The insurance claim department put it back on the business (UPS Store, West 21st) to reply to us with the results and was we were led to believe she (my friend) we lead to believe she was to get financial compensation for the broken items. Mind you, she bought $1,000 insurance and was asking for $300 in damages. It was denied again after 3 attempts, numerous emails, and follow up phone calls. I have been dealing with the UPS manager/owner of the store and trying to get this claim resolved for my friend, who is 80 years old. Lives out is state and shipped the items from Wichita to California. The owner of the UPS store claims she has tried and attempted to get the insurance to claim fault and has denied the claim. So when I Asked her if the store would take care of the claim she said no and put it back on us to re-contact the claims department. What a run-around! My first thought is that the store itself was ultimately responsible due to the fact that they did not follow through with putting enough secured packaging in the box to make sure the product arrived in good packed shape. I want to make customers aware so that when you buy insurance it really does no good. Rely on yourself to ship items. My friend, This poor lady spent her money 💰 and has not been treated fairly. I know I will not use this UPS store! @ups

Eram, the manager at this store (short hair lady) does not have professional customer service manners. Be prepared to be manipulated, yelled at and not helped. A lot of her employees have quit, b/c of being treated unfairly in front of customers. If you are a customer and have lost a package after shipping it, be prepared to be blamed for it rather than being assisted to locate the last location of your package. If you have a life outside of work (have children, are married, etc.) be prepared to be blamed for her having to work for you on your requested day off because you wanted a day off to be with your family. Horrible customer service from the manager, overall.
