Holiday Inn Express & Suites White River Junction, an IHG Hotel

We stayed at this White River Jct VT Holiday Inn for a ski weekend. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. The walls were a little thin in terms of noise, but the spaciousness of the room made up for it. The breakfast was ok, but could use a little more choice and fresh fruit. On a side note, my daughter misplaced her driver's license in the room and the hotel staff looked for it and mailed it to us when it was found two weeks later. Very impressed that they remembered and kept their promise. Overall, Holiday Inns tend to meet or exceed my expectations.

Family night

This was our second time staying on this property for a hockey tournament. Staff is always good with the fact that there are A LOT of kids running around. I checked in through the app and got an email the morning of our arrival that our room was already ready. check in was easy and quick. We decided to go with a 2 Queen suite this time and it was so worth it. We had a door to the bedroom so the kids could go to sleep while the adults hung out in the living room/kitchen and socialized. It's also nice that there is a pool to use! Breakfast is always good as well with a lot of choices, my kids LOVE the cinnamon buns! We love the location as well because it is so close to so many good restaurants in town but Ziggy's Pizza and Lui Lui are a must every time we come! We did have the same heat "issue" but cracking the windows worked just fine and it really wasn't a big deal for us. One small issue. As stated, there were a lot of folks there for this hockey tournament. When we arrived on Friday night. I asked about late checkout. I was told that the staff only had a list for Saturday and since I was checking out on Sunday, to ask tomorrow. I asked in the morning on Saturday and I was told that they weren't doing late checkout because of all the hockey teams. I went down later Saturday night to see about late checkout using my IHG Rewards Membership thinking that would solve the problem and was told again that there wasn't any late check out because of the cleaning staff leaving by a certain time. Different answer but same result which was a little frustrating. It would have been nice for the staff to try to work around extending checkout for at least an hour or as long as they could, I was more than willing to see if there was a compromise. I explained the situation to the staff member with no luck. We ended up checking out at 11 as normal and had to try to find something for our kids to do for 4 hours since we aren't from the area. With all of that said, we understand how things are nowadays with COVID and staffing, this really was a small inconvenience for us in the grand scheme of things. Either way, we will be back to this property! We have had a really good experience with this hotel both times!

Positive: The staff was wonderful! Breakfast was fantastic! Hotel employee definitely puts her heart into making the food was hot and the areas kept nice and clean. The front counter was also a pleasure upon check in. They actually cared about you. Thank you

Not a fancy hotel but the room was big, cleaned, and comfy. Their customer service was superb. Collins and Chad at the front desk the night we checked in, and Damian in the morning were absolutely helpful and eager to assist. The hotel is halfway to the amenities and in a quiet area. They have coffee and a good selection of tea 🍵 which is a plus for me. We were on the first floor and were afraid we were not going to have a restful night, but you can't hear anything happening outside so it was a good surprise. If we ever back in this area, we would definitely stay here again.
