I recently brought my Mother for an introduction/tour of the The Village facility. She really liked what it had to offer and could see herself there. She was impressed with the spa and hair salon for sure. Everyone was very helpful and kind. The baby lamb visiting was the highlight for me (Hi licorice!) :D I know she would be very comfortable there and that her children would know she was safe and taken care of. It is quite expensive which might be a deal breaker for us. We are hoping that it works out when she is ready in the not so distant future.

We moved both of my parents to The Village from another facility and are so happy we did. The Village is a family and we have peace of mind knowing they are so well taken care of by people who truly care about them. All of the staff are great but I have to mention Carol Kolenski, Move In Coordinator. From Carol is incredible - professional, responsive and caring. She played a big part in our decision to move our parents after we met her and took a tour. More importantly, my parents both love her. Dad recently mentioned that she adds so much happiness to his day.

We came from another facility and The Village has been a wonderful change. My Mother is in the memory care unit. The staff is enthusiastic, attentive and joyful and more importantly responsive to families concerns. The facility is beautifully appointed with wonderful amenities that support both residents and families. The activities are both enriching to family members who attend and fun for residents. The food is very good. But the real test is my Mother. She never expressed satisfaction in our prior facility but regularly tells us she is happy here. All the other residents seem happy as well which means they are kind and friendly to one another. I would highly recommend The Village.

My father has been a resident of The Village at WRJ since May 2019, when he relocated from the Mid Atlantic. The community met him with open arms and has been very attentive to making his transition as smooth as possible. Each day is filled with a variety of activities-- art programs, musical performances, cooking demos, or simply walking around the adorable village of White River Junction. The team planning activities is continually coming up with new and creative programming. The physical space is warm and welcoming, with each level carrying a unique and tasteful design and color palette. There is a community kitchen with gourmet equipment that is available for families to use for special celebrations or meals, an art studio with tremendous natural light, a library, a pub, a movie theater, and performance space. They have an on site spa and gym, too There is even an outdoor dog park on the fourth floor for residents who want to bring along their pet. They have thought of everything. The medical care team has been great with my Dad in managing and administering his medications. They provide as much assistance as he needs for day to day tasks, while allowing him to remain as independent as possible. It's a perfect balance. They even found a new primary care doctor for my Dad--and she make house calls! No more waiting in a doctor's office for a simple routine visit. All his meals are included and served in the restaurant on site. The food is high quality and delicious. They even made him home made key lime pie (his favorite) on the day he arrived. While the monthly costs are not inexpensive, I feel it is money well spent. It is a comprehensive fee unlike some communities where laundry, cable, call pendants, etc. are all extra. There is no purchase of a unit. You are simply renting an apartment--no large upfront buy-in required. We feel very fortunate to have gotten in on the ground floor soon after opening. Based on our experience at another new community in the mid Atlantic, I predict it won't be long before The Village will have a waiting list.

At our community, residents live in a warm and friendly, family-like neighborhood with the safety of 24-hour staffing and the compassionate care of highly trained personnel who implement proven memory care programs that encourage and celebrate remaining abilities. It would be virtually impossible to duplicate this level of round-the-clock safety, sense of community and socialization and specific expertise in Alzheimer’s care by using an in-home care service.
