Is there anything I need to know prior to my laser appointment?

If you are taking antibiotics or photosensitizing medications you must stop using them at least 7 days prior to your treatment. Please stay out of the sun 14 days before and after your treatment, and always use an SPF. If you have received a chemical peel - you must wait a minimum of 14 days before receiving your laser treatment. If you are pregnant, you unfortunately cannot receive a laser treatment at this time. If you are getting laser hair removal for the first time, make sure to shave the area being treated the night before or the morning of your appointment- the smoother the better, and it must be 4 weeks since you’ve waxed the area if you normal.

How often are you cleaning?

Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020
Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020

We have always followed our state board guidelines and recommendations for a thorough cleaning, sanitation, and disinfecting, however, we have now taken them a step further to incorporate more sanitary practices for when we open and close our business and between each client. During opening and closing, we are initiating further details to our entryway doors, floors, our retail and lobby areas and our reception/check out desk. Between clients, we have added in more time to thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire treatment area or any other locations throughout the spa/salon/etc. before our next client arrives. Our receptionist/spa attendant is also cleaning and disinfecting main traffic areas hourly.

What are your plans to protect me and yourself since the service I am booking cannot be conducted 6 feet away?

Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020
Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020

Our spa has implicated new rules, recommendations, and guidelines to help us all stay as healthy as possible. Some of these new rules include all of our service providers and guests must wear face-coverings at all times. We will also be minimizing surface and product contact to prevent the transfer of germs. Our waiting area as well as the beverage station will temporarily be unavailable to help prevent the spread of germs. As service providers, we will be washing our hands even more so than before and using sanitizer in-between hand washing as well and we are encouraging the same for our guests. Your service provider will now also be wearing additional PPE items such as masks and/or protective face-shields.

What is a Wellness station and why do I need to use it before my service?

Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020
Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020

To ensure the best health and wellness for ourselves and our customers, we have implemented a Wellness station at all Skin Spa locations. Upon arrival, you will be required to sanitize your hands, wear a face-covering, and have your body temperature checked. We will also ensure you provided the necessary digital intake-forms and will guide you through-out your service. We have upgraded our booking software to offer you a contactless experience and HIPAA compliant intake-forms.

Why do I have to follow new check-and and check-out procedures?

Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020
Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020

We have decided to temporarily mandate a no-waiting policy to ensure we are following the CDC guidelines and recommendations for the number of people we have in the space at one time. This will help us to better plan and prepare for the day to ensure we are promoting the best health and wellness for ourselves and our customers. Uncontrolled traffic during this time would not allow us enough time between services to properly clean, sanitize, and disinfect which is too much of a risk at this time. This is why we kindly ask that you call us or text us before entering the premises and have implemented contactless transactions. We hope to be able to resume regular check-in/check-out procedures once again when the CDC recommendations have been updated and it allows us to do so.

Do I have to wear a mask/why do I have to wear a mask?

Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020
Skin Spa New York - Midtown | Oct 4, 2020

Yes, in order for us all to remain healthy and for the Spa to remain open we have implicated the new rules of mandatory masks/face-coverings being worn by everybody to best protect ourselves and our great customers. Service providers within the Spa will also be wearing masks and/or face-shields. We have modified our menu of services to only offer services not requiring removal of the face-covering and will gradually expand service availability. We understand it can be uncomfortable or unusual to wear a face-covering during a skin service but at this time we must participate in the recommendations that the CDC is providing. We will be sure to let you know if/when masks will hopefully no longer be a necessity during services.
