I came here on a Friday morning, and I really was just expecting to wander around but ended up tagging along for a tour that one of the docents was giving. It was really awesome, Norm was our tour guide and gave us so much interesting information with each plant and demonstrating what each plant does, like telling us about how pitcher plants collect water and trap insects to dissolve them then pouring out the water from one right there, or showing us the spores of ferns, or even telling us to touch the sensitivity plant (the one that shrinks up when you touch it) He had a wealth of information and I would highly recommend following along any of the volunteers since they're really friendly and helpful. I've been to many botanical gardens and this was one of the best just from this experience. Norm you were awesome!! Please consider donating the suggested 10$ especially if you take the tour. I felt like it was a great value esp with the volunteer tour guide experience.

Absolutely loved the Lincoln Park Conservatory! Such cute rooms with slightly different themes in each one - the fern room was my favorite! They had a great variety of plant to look at and the staff were so friendly describing some of the more unique ones there was to see. Entrance is free but be sure to book a ticket online beforehand because you do need a reservation for a time window in order to enter.

If you can find a spot you can park for free about a block north of there.
No, it doesn't cost anything but a small donation in any amount is appreciated.
Wrong place. This place is all about exotic plants. Peggy Notebaert is about a block away and they have a cool butterfly exibit.
On the street if your lucky to find one. But there's no free parking lot unless your willing to take a very long walk
Both conservatories are nice. Garfield is considerably bigger and more extensive. Lincoln Park Conservatory is adjacent to the LP Zoo so it tends to get more foot traffic as people combine their trips into one visit.
Yes! They close at 3 pm though so hurry :)
There are no wheelchairs available to borrow or rent. The facility itself is only partially accessible in the front Palm House (the Fern Room, Orchid House and Show House all have steps).
Yes it is but you do have to make a reservation
Only parking is paid.
Any camera. Including tripod... 🙂
The Conservatory is public, not private. It's been managed by the Park District since it was built.
I would recommend giving them a call for that. Just to confirm. My guess is that it will be the normal sunday time
The conservatory isn't really something you could translate to a garden. There are palms that stretch to the ceiling, rare orchids, and exotic plants like bananas, limes, and coffee.
9 am to 5 pm
Yes you can.
It is very likely that it is, but you can go and ask for information.
Free, Park on cannon drive.
