Questions & Answers

are you allowed to hunt here

Hunting is permitted anywhere on the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests except within developed recreation sites, areas closed by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission or otherwise posted areas. All state hunting and fishing regulations, fees, and seasons apply on national forest land.

Is it a long hike to see the falls.

The forest has over 1 million acres and is full of waterfalls. Some are on the side of the road, some are relatively short hikes and some are difficult bushwhacks. Which falls are you interested in?

Does it cost to get in?

The National Forest is not like a national park. There is no entrance fee at all. There are many state highways that go through the forest, since it encompasses over 1 million acres. There are fees to camp in the developed campgrounds and also to tour Blanchard Springs Caverns. There are many beautiful scenic drives, including state highway 7, highway 23 (also known as the Pig Trail), highway 21, highway 309, and highway 5, and highway 123...etc. Contact the Forest Service directly if you need more information.
