Exactly the kind of Range I was looking for! Really nice setup, lots of plinking targets, private bays, clay shooting for shotguns, friendly and engaging employees. What more can you ask for in a range.

Best shooting range in San Antonio strongly recommended The steal plates make it more fun than shooting paper

Best shooting range in town !

My experience here was AMAZING. I rarely leave reviews (although I rely on them) but this place deserves a major shout out. To me, the best part of my experience was my interaction with the folks who work here, but the range itself stands apart from others. The team here is very welcoming and takes safety seriously which I appreciate. The range is huge! It's outdoor with shaded shooting lanes and areas to practice almost every weapon and shooting style you prefer (pistol, shotgun, rifle, skeet, archery, tactical shooting and even a sporting clay range/course that they change up often). The check in building also has guns and equipment for sale as well as some novelty items and food/drink. The bathrooms are also inside (temperature controlled) and very clean (which as a female I care about when it comes to outdoor locations). :) Range masters Carmello and Ben were so friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to welcome us to the range and explain the rules and everything they offered. Ben took extra time to hang with us for a bit talking weapons and showed us some different options when we were done. Terry at the front check in was also amazing and was so nice and friendly from the time we walked in to when we left. I recommend this range to anyone who is shooting alone, with a party or practicing for sport or hunting. This place is now my all time favorite range. Thank you LoneStar team for such a great experience. My Dad had been waiting to shoot his new guns and you made our quality time that much better. We will definitely be back!

They have a sighting area (I believe it's 25 yds) but they don't want you to linger there too long. The actual rifle range is only steel
Every Friday from 5-7pm. 2 for the price of 1. Lights light up the targets on the handgun side.
It now does
Depends on the class. You do not need any prior experience to take their Intro classes which I would highly recommend if you have never shot before.
Yes. Just let us know when you get here.
Yes. Recommended schedule it same day as your chl class
Yes. I come a few times per week and have used steel cased ammo of all kinds. Tula, No-Name, Wolf, etc. They allow MOST ammo, as long as it is not armor piercing. I would imagine they do not allow incendiary rounds either, as most ranges do not.
Not necessary, all the tools you need will be provided during the class. Best thing to do is just practice shooting at the range if you have the time.
It ranges from $25 for a basic "Constitutional Carry" info course, to $90 to get the course and your LTC, all the way up to $250 for the course, additional training, and the LTC. Minimum to get your LTC here is $90 which is very competitively priced.
Any size. Might check about slugs though. There is also a $10 "backer fee" when using standard bays since shotguns will absolutely destroy their backers in about 3-4 shots. They do have clay pidgeon courses that you can rent for shotguns. Otherwise, I would get a private bay and go from there.
Maybe in one of the private bays! I've never had an issue with anything when renting a private bay.
Handguns must be holstered or cased when not in use on the range.
YES! You can move, shoot, move as well. They also have little black tubes that you can place around the bays as "cover and concealment". Rifles, shotguns, handguns all allowed on their private bays. NO armor piercing rounds, but other than that you should be good to go. I take my 5.56 AR out here a few times per week. Get a 50yd bay and you'll be pleased.
Yes they do. You can call for pricing.
Exactly what Sean said or bring your own and shoot it. I have shot up to 7.62x54R, and .50Cal there
I was there yesterday and did not see a 1000 yd range but that doesn't mean they aren't making it.
Yes, but ramps as well
All three.
$10.95 per shooter gives you all day access and you can shoot as many guns as you like
18 unless accompanied by a legal guardian. I've seen some in their low teens shooting with parents out there. https://www.lonestarhandgun.com/shooting-range#
$12 per person for the day. If you rent a private bay it is hourly and a upcharge depending on the size of the bay.
Minors are allowed with appropriate supervision.
Its an LTC now. License To Carry. I believe it was 60 for the class and 10 for the fingerprints. Give them a call to confirm.
No. They have tables and chairs in that section. You could rent a private bay, but they are more for close range. You'll have to call to see if they have a private bay for longer ranges, but I don't believe they do.
Need to be able to follow range rules, keep hearing and eye protection on. No babies and no kids in strollers.
3 things to get a license 1. Fill out state application and pay the fee to the state 2. Fingerprints 3. Take a LTC class and submit the class completion form to the state. The state will then send you your license. If you aren't sure where you are in the process, give us a call.
Great place to shoot. Metal reactive targets at 7 and about 14 yards for handguns. There's a private bay section for handguns at about 7 yards. There's a 35 yard private and a 65 yard private. You can move around the general handgun area, just sweep your brass forward or take them with you. Very friendly and helpful knowledgeable staff.
$10.95 to shoot all day. No time limit except on private bays or if there is a wait.
